It sucks to lose, so perhaps waiting a few days for a more objective post makes sense.

I don't have the facts in front of me, but if you take the median age of the Olympic qualifying team and the median age of the squads we put on the field against Jamaica and NI, I dare say the difference will be no more than a year.

So on the one hand, it does not really matter since it can be argued, as @2tone said earlier, our best players have already made the step up to the full USMNT.

But as @hamsamwich said earlier, it appears GB or Earnie is tying to incorporate a culture throughout the age groups so everyone plays the same way. In this respect, we clearly failed since this team either is incapable of playing this way or the coach is incapable of selecting a side that can play this way.

In hindsight, missing this olympics this time is not the end of the world. A good portion of our talent is skipping the U-23 level this cycle anyway. However, in the next cycle we will need to develop the next generation that will be able to step in after our current generation hits their prime.

4 players would have been sure fire starters on this team if they hadn't been sold or loaned out:

1. DIKE
2. Aaronson
3. Reynolds
4. McKenzie

You add these four players to this team and it's so much better.

This is why I am not concerned about missing the Olympics all four of these players are in Europe and playing well.

The program is headed in the right direction.

Damn Dike is only 20 ? Holy shit I had to google that after your post.

I'm reading the MLS article on why they failed ! Totally forgot Keaton Parks was age eligible....

This roster was a shit show

Yeah he is young and has so much upside. That's why EPL teams are scrambling to snap him up

Yeah good read

Bad coach, sloppy roster, USSF incompetence.
