@ Lilshmike

Was thinking the same thing. I think in general the overall talent pool for all teams isn't as good as the past. If I had to guess, US will probably tie or lose to Mexico and win the game that matters most. I'm not excited about this team, some major roster changes will be needed if they secure a birth to the olympics.

Yeah, the group game result against Mexico is meaningless. We should rest the guys on yellows and the guys who have played a lot of minutes. Put a double pivot rope a dope formation out there to keep things close. I honestly think the game will be a butt ugly disjointed defensive snoozer. Best case a sleepy tie or one goal loss...doesn't matter. I'm guessing Mexico will not have their A side...their foot won't be on the gas...no need to show anything. They have a very strong side and depth.

We have to be completely dialed in for the semi game...that is the only game that matters. Unfortunately, anything can happen in a concacrap one-off. I think the collective team has a good mental toughness to it, so I'm hopeful we'll get through whomever we play.

@chrisBP- I think as the team works on spacing a game like this should get the team primed for a lesser opponent in the semis. Get more familiarity and try and play the majority of guys who will play the semi, keeping cards and tired legs and whatever in mind as the most important. The result isn't a big deal but how they play is. After a few games I think we have the template as to what the team wants to do- it's playing to that the best they can that's important. I'd love to see Soto bag a few of course.

Hey Ham - I see the Mexico game and the Semi as apples and oranges...totally different dynamic. Mexico won't sit back, they will dictate the game. I think we will see our Semi opponent sit back. My gut feeling is Kreis has a good idea who his starting 11 will be against different opponents. I don't think a single 6 will work against Mexico. I'm sure we"ll see more of a 4-2-3-1 against them. It will be really interesting how we use Dotson...and if we try to free up Yueill as an 8. I'd like to see Saucedo in a play making role. I think he is a critical player for us on the attack. He wasn't very sharp against DR...we need him to be dialed in for the semi game.

I agree with that. But do you think Kreis will change or do you think we stay the same and see if it works. Either way I'll be watching tonight the late kick off is a bonus.

We are really missing Uly, but I expect Saucedo to play good tonight-Im sure he will be targeted and will come out of this game bruised-lets hope our boys can show well-they have had 2 crappy games hoping they are starting to gel.

I would shift Herrera to the right, bring on Vines, and put on Ferriera for Soto.

full half of not very good. I thought he was supposed to be good at defense.

On the other hand Perea has been up to the challenge.

Really not impressed with Mexico though. If this is their primary up coming youth, it's not looking very bright for thwm.

Embarrassing display of soccer.... Almost all of these players are a by-product of MLS and their lack of quality shows. I don't think any of these players should be close to the full national team..

Probably won't even watch the semi final game on Sunday.. Boring bad soccer all around.

Tomorrow is the game to watch..
