I have no problem with any of those players playing that position and most of them are better then Lletget I have always said that Lletget was just a placeholder until a better player came along.
You realize that your post completely missed the point of my post?

I don't think I did. By suggesting that people would love Lletget if he was Euro based, you are implying that, as a player, he is on par with the Euro guys in the pool. That's a really tough sell.

Actually the opposite. They would love him even if he sucked just because he played in Europe was the point.

Seeing that blaise still believes that Adams is too basic, and that he's not all that keen on Mckennie, I somewhat doubt that.

Ha, I already said there's players in Europe that don't make the cut (Cannon, Gioannchi, Ream, and I'm not on board with Weah) Put Lleglet in Europe and he'll be added to that list too...

Gonna say this again, the Adams + Mckennie combo will handicap the team. They can be used in the same position. Mckennie is hot and cold on the national team, there's times where he turns into a black casper the ghost !!

I think SL has actually played well with the Nats, I think the issue most of us have is that there are better options, and it seems GB give SL preferred treatment. Ie when he was flown in for 2 days of practice to play a false 9--

Or now designing a lineup in part to accommodate SL.

The good news is Aaronson showed in 20 mins that we dont need SL--I didnt really rate Aaronson that high when he was in mls, but watching him develop overseas has helped his play in a short amount of time-so you dont think Im bashing mls-he was probally close the same level but he didnt raise his level as fast because he was playing with lesser players. Now he is training day in and out with better players and you can see his quality-that first pass to Gio was on point. With CP being hurt all the time Aaronson needs to get PT with the Nats.

Also Dest needs to be tried at RW--we have a LB who starts in the PL-the 3 crosses he provided were great-

Reynolds needs to get 90-I do not think he is ready yet but he looks to be a quick study and could be come WC time.

Im a little tired of watching Gio always pout-its fine to get upset if you mess up but he seems off mentally.

GB should have kept Dest on the field when he subbed Robinson on

I would like to a back 4 of
JS45, Sieb 45,
Gio
CP Aaronson YM Dest
Robinson EPB Richards Reynolds

Del Luca played well he deserves more PT

JS played well I think he showed he can pass/trap, hold up and beat people 1v1 -striker is getting crowded good to see

Overall it was a good showing by our boys

I'm just gonna come out and say it...

For those of you thinking that GGG is designing a lineup for Lletget or trying to wedge him in any way he can... that's actually dumb.

You guys do realize that hes been playing a 4-3-3 pretty consistently, with a holding 6 and two 8s, right? As have the U23s... which makes sense because GGG already said that the best Olympic eligible players who are available to go to the Olympics would be going. Meaning that they're using the same lineup and formation as the senior team to make for consistency and easier transition between teams. It's not about wedging in one player... it's down to what players are available for selection. Again, all of this makes sense if you think about who we have in the pool and who was available for selection.

I'd rather have Aaronson start over Lletget, but in no way is Berhalter changing the formation to accommodate Lletget. If McKennie was available, Lletget would be on the bench... and the entire formation would stay the exact same. Period.

Seriously, you guys are trying to find someone to blame the coach for. Anything. Grasping at things that aren't even accurate.

Please help us understand your genius. How is a player clearly better by levels playing behind a player not in his class and it's ok?

Is Lletget starting this game? No.

How does your question though even address the point - which was that Berhalter is clearly not shifting formations and players to accommodate Lletget? It doesn't.

But looking at the players called in, looking at the formations, listening to the press conferences the coach gives, and actually understanding what's going on makes someone a genius I guess. And all this time I thought it was just called using common sense.

Is Ream really starting at the 6 today?

Not sure. Could be interesting to see that tbh.

I would have thought Dike would have gotten the start up top this game. Big opportunity for Siebatcheu,

Also, I wouldn't doubt if we're rolling out a 3-4-3 / 5-2-3 with wing backs. The formation on Google could be wrong.

I'm not a huge fan of Reyna on the wing either. I think he'd be better suited centrally.

I don't care about Lletget, no one does.

It's the idea that he represents, which is players like him that are not on this level continue to get unmerited biased treatment to promote the old guard/ sum product.
This game you see it with Long, Ream, even MM.

I called you a genius bc you make excuses to justify GGG's senseless bias to support his political biases and I find it humorous.

I don't care what he says. He's still not qualified for this job. Continues to make the same mistakes with player selections an he's holding the program back

Ream looks like he should be playing bass for Phish rather than the 6 for the U.S.
