So we are playing Serbia in Florida sometime in January. It will not be their starting player but guys from their domestic league. I am guessing we field a team similar to the one that played El Salvador. I see no reason to call up the guys from Europe for this one.

He He, forgot about Camp Cupcake, I guess it's that time of year. So I guess this is the game for that.

Supposedly Canada May also get added to the schedule.

I wonder if a guy like Konrad can get the Uly treatment from last year where Uly hadn't broken into the first team really but the club agreed with Gregg it was more important Uly play national team than reserve games. Hopefully Koeman would agree. I'd love to see the longtime debate get played out - is a guy like Konrad more ready than MLS guys to help the team right now?

I don't think that will happen.... now with COVID spreading more quickly. Also I would rather Konrad stays and continues to train with the first team. Or maybe look for a loan.

I think it would be cool to get fringe Euro guys in this January camp. Would welcome Johannsson, Wright, Green etc.. if available.

Lol play Canada against Akinola

Doubt their teams will release them, the Scandinavian teams play on a schedule similar to mls, will that be their off season? If so then why not Wright and Kevin Bacon

Since the January games aren't on FIFA dates we have to negotiate with clubs to allow players to participate....even if the players club isn't in season they can refuse to release them.
Historically outside of a player here or there the January camp has only been MLS players. The few exceptions have been Jones (was sitting out an extended suspension), Uli (was a youth team player), Diskerud (Scandinavian team), and I think there were a couple others (Liga MX, etc...) but most were not in their clubs 1st team plans or were just coming back from an injury/suspension and the club saw it as a way to get a player back into game condition without risking league points.

With Covid raging in USA and Europe, I doubt many teams will be inclined to release players for a meaningless friendly.

with a vaccine out I'm sure it can't be too long before valuable soccer players get vaccinated ahead of more needy members of society. In this golden era of us soccer I think Konrad for sure should be jumped to the front of the line.

The usual suspects. I like that Atlanta released Bello and Robinson. No Zardes. Best part is the u23 camp being held simultaneously. The players there are better. Supposedly the top performers in the youth camp bump up to the big boy squad for the friendlies.

Is it me or is there anyone else who's hoping that the majority of the 11 Sr. players (Mueller actually qualifies as a U-23) don't actually make the gameday roster whenever the game is actually confirmed.
Honestly think that only Turner/Johnson, Lletget, Morris, & Mueller were worthy of being called up. The rest of the gameday roster should be from the U-23 squad.
-
If we do qualify for the Olympics this cycle, I could see the 3 over age players being Turner, Lletget, & Morris as the younger players in Europe won't be released and are actually better served with the Sr. USMNT anyway.

I got a lot of negative feedback when I suggested that the reason Lltget was called in Europe camp is that GB was thinking of him for one of the over aged sots. I still think that is why he got called.

So we did get one guy from Europe: Bryang Kayo. This dude is a technical bully. Smart.

***Lletegt is not the problem. Or the solution. But he fits in.

### Mueller has that swagger the team needs. Hopefully he shows well and keeps it up, I like his edge. A lot of the team are nice guys, I like that Mueller (on the field) is a bit of a prick. He speaks excellent Spanish too. °Dale!
