You have Nations league and Gold Cup this upcoming summer if COVID permits. Who do you all have in the team? It will be hard to sell European clubs letting players go for both so I think the top European Club players will be brought in mostly for the Gold Cup.
Nations League team:
GK: Guzan, Johnson, Miller
D: Reynolds, Duncan, Long, Mckenzie, Zimmerman, EPB, Bello, Vines
M: Yueill, Roldan, Acosta, Bassett, A. Morris, Lletget
A: Sabbi, Zardes, Mueller, De La Fuente, Soto, Llanez
GK: Steffen, Horvath, Guzan
D: Dest, Cannon, Brooks, Richards, Miazga, Long, A. Robinson, Bello
M: Mckennie, Adams, Yueill, Lletget, Aaronson, Cardoso
A: Pulisic, Weah, Sargent, Reyna, Giaochinni, J. Morris
Potentials: Sabbi, Musah, Llanez, De la Fuente
I do think some players from the Nations League will be on the Gold Cup roster.
I didn't put Musah on there because we still don't know if he is going to commit to the USA and I think it will be to soon for him to make that decision.
Also you have to think a lot of these players will want to play in the Olympic team if A. we qualify and B. The tournament is a go.

I don't think Aaron Long, Yueill, Lletget, Morris, and Gioacchini belong anywhere near the national team.

It's difficult to determine what Gregg is going to do roster wise with all the competitions scheduled for 2021 (Olympic, Nations League, Gold Cup, WC Qualifiers). He's going to have to rotate some of the players...and clubs aren't required to release players for the Olympics. Olympics will primarily be MLS and Liga MX players with maybe a couple Euro players who aren't featuring for their clubs 1st teams. Nations league is something no-one really cares about. I'd guess that the squad will be mostly domestic players with a couple fringe Euro players. Gold Cup is a chance to get everyone together for an extended period of time. I expect this to be as much of the "A" Team as possible. WC Qualifiers are clearly the most important and should be what Gregg sees to be his "A" team.
As for who gets selected for which competition it's going to be difficult to say until we know when each competition is going to be held. There will be some players sacrificed to the Olympic team while others are given time off due to the congested club schedules.

From my perspective it's easier to pick out who shouldn't be involved than it is to predict who Gregg will call. The players I believe we shouldn't move on from Include: Gusan - He's fallen down the depth chart and it's time to move on. Bradley - Has been a shell of what he was. Time has caught up and passed him. Jozy - His continued injuries leaves him on the outside for me. Roldan - has proven himself to not be equal to the international level. Long & Zimmerman - I'm not a fan of either and believe that there are better options available. That said I think Gregg will continue to call them.

Aaron Long has consistently been awful for almost 2 yrs
Morris has never made an impact against Mexico or any decent team, he was even pedestrian in the mls playoffs
Yueill is clearly not on the level of Cardoso or Owatasawie
Lletget is not an impact player and doesn't have the quality of Julian Green or Ledezma
Nico G doesn't have the experience of Arjo, Haji and isn't on the level of Sango or Forlarin
It's ok to have your preferences but none of them even consider the quality of the pool outside of them which is problematic
All I want for the new year is the politics to be taken out of selections

Disagree. The only I would add is Otasowie for Yueill. Ledesma is out for 9 months bud. Highly doubtful Balugon is going to committ to the US by the Gold Cup. ArJo is 30 and it looks like Berhalter is going for young players. Green may get a callup.

I'd like to see all our fringe players be given a run out in the gold cup to let them get a handle on the region. The nations league is more of a win the game you play rather than develop a squad over a tournament. Lots of games to go around.

Don't get the take on NG. He might not be a starter, but he is extremely mobile, linked up well with the midfield, put himself in great spots for his goals, etc. Don't care that he is currently in Ligue 2. He can play.

Arjo is the same age as LLetget and younger than Ream
Morris is 26 and not a younger player
EPB has rated highly against Salzburg, LASK and Vienna, and ppl are afraid to say his name

Nico G is fine but what argument can you make to separate him from Haji (higher level, scoring, moves just as well if not better), Arjo (higher level, better technique more clinical), Forlarin ( a stud in every way), Sango (the best young striker prospect in Germany)
I mean let's think critically guys and not just pick favorites

Haji isn't as skilled as NG.
I'd be fine calling in ArJo, but Berhalter doesn't seem interested.
Folarin isn't committed to the Nats. Neither is Sanogo.
The idea that NG doesn't belong with the Nats doesn't track at all.

From what I heard Sanogo is waiting for a US call-up. I should've work for US Soccer, been calling for Balogun for over a year.

ArJo may get a call up who knows. EPB hasn't really shown he is a better quality CB, but he is still young. You want experience more at the back.
