since mls is our domestic league I want to see it grow and flourish. The league has grown talent wise yr after yr but it still has a ways to go. Depth is needed, better salaries are needed, etc Pro/Rel would be a good idea and better release contracts.

All that to say it is grt the mls is having a good product yr after yr but that doesn't mean that we need to give its player preferential treatment vs Euro players to try and prove a point that the league is growing. We can be proud of the league and acknowledge younger players are being produced from the academies, coaches are giving younger guys PT and that will eventually help our NATS. BUT we can also say with the number of guys playing overseas -call ups should be based on talent and form and we shouldn't need to find room for mls guys unless of course talent wise they fit into the team.

as for mls as a league while certainly not a top 5 I have been happy with its progress but it also still has a ways to go

Nice post and 100% agree. As I have stated before an MLS bias does exist toward the Nats. I don't think it's to the extent that bjelks does but I agree with him that it is there. I absolutely would encourage everyone who can to play at the highest level possible to do so, and Europe is where it's at. I also am happy with MLS growth because I remember when there was no domestic league, it's a privilege to have one.

I think it matters which team in Europe we are talking about, not necessarily just the league. There are good teams in bad leagues and bad teams in good leagues. I think of the Premier League and there are only about eight teams that are 'good'.

Also, I think it would be interesting to see a Champions League created for North, Central and South America. The winner of the Americas Champion League has a one off final against the European Champions League winner. Logistically this is much more do-able.

No that kid is German. @blaise- you're talking about El Paso born Santiago Munoz....

@samtom- as the MLS teams get eliminated one by one the team is starting to take shape. I'd be on the lookout for Caden Clark, Tanner Tessmann, and George Bello....

My current XI with the guys from the eliminated teams penciled in-

Mihailovic - Ebobisse - Lletget
- Clark - Bassett -
- Yueill -
Vines - Pineda - Long - Duncan
- Johnson -

Bench: Bello, F. Amaya, M. Robinson

### this list will change as the better players get eliminated.

Add in: Aaronson, McKenzie, E Williamson, Akinola

As teams are eliminated there are some positives and negatives for this upcoming camp.
Negatives: Toronto & Sounders eliminated means that some of their players will be called into camp. We can now expect to see Jozy, Bradley & Roldan called up.
Positives: Akinola & Morris become available.

What I think we'll see from Gregg in the next week...
Keepers: Johnson, Hamid, Guzan
Defense: Long, M. Robinson, McKenzie, Glad, Vines, Bello, Williamson, Araujo,
Midfield: Bradley, Yueill, Roldan, Bassett, K. Acosta, Lletget, Aaronson, Clark
Attack: Ebobisse, Akinola, Dike, Mueller, Lewis, Mihailović, Arriola, Morris

A bit of a letdown from the Euro squad we watched in November, but hopefully we can still find a couple diamonds in the rough to possible help cover all the competitions in 2021.

I don't understand this at all, if there is a player good enough why would you not want them to do well?

Must've covered your ears during his Konrad take.

Happy thanksgiving. Balogun scored the cranberry sauce goal for everyone.

I think he judged everyone fairly except Gregg.

He let Gregg off the hook for the false 9 strategy.

He said he thought we had better options than Ream and Lletget.

He said Dest and Wes were too flashy at times.

He said that Cannon isn't very good, but was more composed than Antonee. Can't argue with that.

He said Konrad didn't look ready but has the profile to be a very good player and expects him to be much more settled in March after more mins.

In the previous video, he said that Jordan lacks the qualities of an intl winger, but Gregg will force him in the team if the younger wingers don't get more mins and goals.

Realistic and fair pts.

We need to lock Balogun down ! His goal was dope

Saw the tweet about Malik Sanogo doing some first team training for Union Berlin... another dual prospect

Gregg getting Efra Alvarez in camp for this game vs El Salvador. The kind of quality left foot where he can drift in from the right and make some plays.

I was hoping for this. I think Efra is a quality player, he might be a depth piece at this point but it is nice to see GB, going out and getting players. I won't count Dest as his get even if it happened under his watch.

Not sure if you thought this through. You do realize for many Northern cities, traveling for a midweek game to a place like Buenos Aires is hardly any more logistically do-able than a trip to Europe; flight time alone (not travel time) for many teams would be >>12 hours (albeit dont have to contend with as large a time zone difference). In fact teams would spend less time flying to many European cities.
