Sadly I had to work and missed the game. I did watch a highlight video and he looked to be holding his own. I am sure he played the way Pirlo asked him to play. I am glad Pirlo came and played in MLS or maybe this move never happens.

Bahahaha a top young Schalke player moving to Juve has nothing to do with mls giving Pirlo a retirement check to go on a North American farewell tour

Funny because Pirlo himself said that he got a greater appreciation of the American player from his time in MLS and that the league was a lot stronger than he anticipated. As usual you have your own narrative which does not always coincide with reality.

Lol why didn't he sign an American player from mls then?
As usual, you're turning a young player that has nothing to do with mls into an mls ad campaign

I didn't say anything about signing players from MLS, I was talking about the Manager and how his opinion of the American player changed because of his time in the league. I wonder if the transfer happens if he doesn't ever play in the US. I think your being dense on purpose just to troll.

Also didn't Mckennie spend like 7 or 8 years in FC Dallas academy. Your right Bjelks, MLS has nothing to do with McKennies at all.

The dude can't handle anything to do with MLS and won't even recognize it, if it was staring him right in the face. It is a waste of breath.

Crazy how quickly Mckennie transitioned to being such an intergal piece in Juventus midfield. I expect Juve to purchase him at the end of the year.

I've been knocking MLS for awhile but the last playoff round and final was pretty good!

With the CCL games coming up in a few days... I'll watch it hoping that MLS can finally do something this time.

I think he has an inside track on staying at Juve. Only thing that is certain is that he won't be back at Schalke.

I am not knocking MLS or its academies here but I just don't feel like they should get much credit for Mckennie. Living in America the MLS academies are your only option. I don't know his full back story but I am guessing his family wasn't going to just move to Germany when he was 10 so he could play soccer.

Another way I see it is in baseball I don't care if a player came up through the Marlins organization if he is now a great player for the Yankees (not a yankees fan but my Rangers are just terrible).

The MLS academies are doing good things but every time a player does well in Europe doesn't mean it was because of the academy. Now if a player leaves the academy and goes and starts right away in a top league, absolutely most of the development was the academy.

It is no longer the only option just the pre-dominant one. Barca has set up a US academy in Arizona, that is where Kaden Clark trained. It is wonderful because it circumvents the home grown player rule.

I did not know that. That is pretty cool though. Competition isn't just for the players. Having more options, especially one of Barca's caliber, should make everyone else get better or left behind.

Watching the game. Lovely headed assist to Dybala. He gave him a big hug after the goal. He's made a tremendous showing the past week. I think it's a no brainer he stays. All his teammates love him. Helps that he is a baller who will do anything for the team
