Morris with another goal. Makes 8 goals and 7 assists on the year. Which is a damn good year so far.

We've seen him at international level..eh he's below required level for success. Sad thing is he'll get a call up and get t play with all these younger euro based beasts and they'll make him look better than he is...

Btw who are the striker picks for the Nov Euro camp. I got:

Sargent, Gioacchini, and Novakovich. But I could see Soto get a call just bc of his Chile debacle.

He hasn't said that. He just hasn't ruled any option off the table. Which is his right.

certainly his right. But when you have played in the US youth system U15,17,20-It seems you would know who you want to play for. Its not like Brazil or Germany is calling him-its between us and Canada--So I would say he is not sold on the US.

I feel like Sabbi will get the call as a winger. Wouldn't mind seeing Green or Arjo.

Hmm everyone thought that he was international level when JK was the head coach. Are you sure it's not playing with old scrubs like Bradly and company that made him look bad, or maybe the ACL injury? Now that he is fully recovered, in form, and playing with decent players I would at least like a look, he has been scoring some spectacular goals and sometimes carries his team. No only issue with Morris is that he will have a monster game or two then disappear for a game, I wish he always had an impact, he is a striker that needs service to be most effective, he can certainly make the runs and get behind defenses.

Lol every striker needs service to be effective including Lewandowski.

No, I never thought he was international level when JK picked him.

JK did a lot of crazy stuff that didn't make sense.

He called a usl player, he called division 4 German player, he made Bradley a 10, he made Morales a right wing, he played Beckerman in a WC game.

He left one of our best attackers ever out for Wondo 🤣🤣🤣.

No Jk calling Morris means nothing credible

That's largely because you've decided that Morris is one of the hills you will die on and are pathologically incapable of recognizing his qualities, such as intelligent off ball runs (he's done that since JK called him in) and being potentially the fastest player in the pool.

Agree to disagree about Morris. He hasn't had the quality around him like we have now. And the guy still serves a purpose with this current USMNT either on the wing or at striker. Last I looked he has two MLS championships, a Gold Cup championship with the winning goal. So yeah he is still in the 23 man roster for me. If he wasn't injured for WC qualifying the USMNT is much more dangerous. Seriously the guy has been injured. He is entering his prime and looks to be a player that will dominate MLS. Quite frankly we haven't seen his attacking dominance in MLS since Landon in MLS.

Lol he has every opportunity to earn respect the same way every other player does by proving it at a top level.

I keep asking the question, why are the goal posts Pushed up and why are accommodations made for Morris when they aren't for any other player for us considered a top player?

No one can give me a logical answer, but why?

All the hype for Cannon and ended up an avg player on a bottom table Portuguese team, bc I know wtf I'm talking about.

Off ball runs, you're giving him credit for things my high school coach expects us to do lol.

He's just not the fastest player in the pool or close to it bahahaha.
He's not as fast as Yedlin, Adams, Dest, Pulisic, Robinson, Weah, Amon, Zardes, Gooch.

Ppl just say anything when it comes to Morris. No one can tell me who he's beat in a foot race that's fast. He runs behind middle aged mls defenders when their heads are turned, but he's the fastest player in our pool. Umm ok lol.

I'd bet he is faster than all those dudes save Yedlin.

And if you don't think there are multiple levels of tactical awareness when it comes to off ball runs or if you think every player can make good off ball runs then you most assuredly don't know what the eff you are talking about.

I personally wouldn't start him as a 9...his hold up play isn't great, particularly in comparison to Sargent. But I think he is a good fit as a winger, and is currently one of the best 11.

And the ripping of Cannon is another one of your hot takes. Nuclear hot.

Folarin Balogun is training with Arsenal first team and they rejected a $4 million transfer to Sheffield United two weeks ago. Arsenal values him at $15 million

The problem is you're betting based on being a fan and not any objective factual evidence.
I've listed evidence of all those guys either catching International level players from behind or running past international level players face to face.

Believe what you want, doesn't make it anymore credible.
Ppl make lots of money in football bc of their ability to play football not because they can follow instructions lol, bc that's the bare minimum. But hey you like his background and looks so you hype him up.

Why don't you just call Morris the best American ever due to his goals against Cuba and Canada?
Is there any limit to the amount of fanboying you're willing to do for the great hope?

There's no ripping of Cannon, you and your mlsluminati called Cannon a Bundesliga player and he's nowhere close. This is a fact.

So what accommodations are being made for Morris? We have always played the strikers and wingers who are playing regularly and scoring goals. You named some guys and I appreciate that someone is training for X Euro team. Riding the bench and getting 2 min at the end of a few games is a whole different animal than starting for a team and being one of the league leaders in goals. I am very excited for our young prospects, but why play some guy because he may be able to score goals when we have a guy who has proven that he can score goals.

When he has a 15+ goal season in the MLS, not all comps, then I'll be impressed. Get to 20 goals and I'll be interested. He's playing in a league where average to decent Serie A and La Liga players get 30 goals, if he's up to par with international game I need to see higher numbers that show he's international quality. Not to mention a golden boot win from an American striker would be nice before we hit ten years since a win in our own league in 2022...
