After last weeks loss, Sargents coach said how much the team missed him due to his work rate and link up play. His energy. Those are things that can be duplicated here for the USA and I just keep seeing him build on what's been a good start for him. He drops deep a lot and Bremen really don't have too many chance creators. But Sargent has fought through that to earn a role on the team. I think he is the key player for the USA. We saw last friendlies with the odd Lletget as no.9 and then game 2 it showed where Sargent is ahead of Nico in his all around game, Soto proved once again he can finish but many other parts of his game also need work. It's a long time until the actual World Cup but going into 2021 I see a gap forming between Sargent and his competitors for that spot. I think Gyasi will provide something during qualification but with our best team it's gotta be Josh a majority of the time.
I thought that he was going to take off like 2 years ago. I really wish he would move to another team in Germany. I still feel Josh has a higher ceiling than Zardes but as far as their performances with the Nats, it's pretty even. So if it's even you go with the younger player that plays at a higher level. I agree that Zardes still has a part to play for now.

@kamphgruppe- I mean Sargent has been left off by Gregg who later said it was a mistake, and now was prevented from seeing what he can do by his regional covid regulations for this last friendly. Patience.

I think Soto can jump up the list with a different loan move in January to a higher rated club in a better league. I know that Norwich would love to have him in their squad but I'm not sure what the new rulings will bring with Brexit as far as permits. Anyways, this guy is the class finisher of the group. Maybe he needs to round out his other skills to pass the guys in front of him (and that's what a move would do, have him develop more skills).... but there isn't anyone currently in the pool with his finishing ability.

Apparently, due to his age and the number of games the USMNT has played this last year, had he played against Wales, and then featured tomorrow, he would have been granted a waiver and would have been able to come back to Norwich.
He'll no doubt get in the game tomorrow. I think he may be closer to getting a permit than initially anticipated.
Regardless, he needs game time. I'm all for him to stay in Holland if he plays every week. Or go out on loan if he plays every week. Or go back to Norwich if he is able to play every week.
Norwich is leading the table too at the moment in the Championship. It may be helpful to get him back there ASAP in the event they get promoted (seeming a good possibility) so he doesn't get leap frogged by someone else they would inevitably buy in the summer.
It's been a bit of a wave for him this season in terms of PT, but his role has definitely been increasing the past 2-3 weeks. Hope he shows well tomorrow.

Weah is coming back from injury. Sometimes an athlete can't be told they need to slow down and rehab more when all they want to do is play. Lille is invested in him, I believe they'll do the right thing even if it isn't what Weah wants right now.
