I watch soccer. What people can do right now is the point of the national team. We are coming up on qualifiers soon it's no longer a far away thing. Games need to be won. Players have to be in the right spots. It would be wonderful if our young technical players also knew where to be and can win against grown men from Panama or El Salvador or whoever. That's the point of the camps. To bring players in, see what they have, how they play with their teammates, and what they bring to the table as far as mentality etc.

All this other woke ass garbage I really think you need to see a shrink @ bjelks. You don't watch the games and you come on an Internet forum and rant and rave. I get that people are isolated at home for the most part outside of work but you don't live in reality.

I hope all our prospects pan out but it doesn't work that way. Konrad is getting to the age where Barcelona will not see him as a prospect anymore. If he doesn't produce this year I could see them moving on from him. There is no telling where his career would go from there.

He is 19 and can qualify to play in the next U20 WC. He is younger than everyone on the first team save Pedri and Fati. It would be pretty shocking if they dumped after this year.

It wouldn't be shocking if they just left him in the reserves...

Barcelona, the type of club that they are, and with the run of results they've had over the last 2 season... looking to rebuild...

They are the type of club that has the resources, desire, and attraction to pull in guys to get the job done. Guys far better than Konrad.

Now is not really a time for them to promote within. They are far more likely to go out in the transfer market and buy proven, quality players to help improve the team and get results. Which will likely push Konrad a bit further down the depth chart - leaving him in the reserves for them to call in from time to time when they need an option, as his role has been up to this point.

My point is that they could let him spend another 2 years with the reserves or on loan, and he'd still be in the range of a "prospect". The likelihood that they just cut him loose or try to sell him for cheap seems low at this point.

Yeah, I 100% agree. I was laying out why that is most likely the scenario that will take place.

Hes 19 now. If he is still in the reserves without meaningful first team minutes/bench consistency by age 21... thats going to screw him and his next move.

I bet he stays with the reserves all season. He should, after the U20 WC, try to angle a move out on loan at least so he can get consistency of playing with grown men, senior team players at a level higher than the 3rd division in Spain.

RE Konrad

Don't be surprised to see him play today. Barca are guaranteed through in CL, almost certainly in 1st place, playing against the worst team in their group, and have already said they are resting players. Wouldn't be shocked if he either started or came on as a sub and got 20 minutes or so in the second half.

Malick Sonogo has been brought up to the first team at Union Berlin. I don't doubt he will make an appearance very soon. The kid is a crack.

@hamsandwich Bahahahaha so anyone that isn't pushing your fanboy agenda doesn't watch the games. I watched the last Seattle game and again against 3rd tier club competition, Morris created nothing. He never creates anything. He backpasses, he runs in straight lines with a defender behind, and looks for tap ins.

If you watched the games, you would know that the best players on Sea are Lodeiro and Ruicosta, bc they create everything and have the best technique.

I don't know what woke garbage is, I don't think it has anything to do with evaluating football players.

If we're talking about who the best football player is that gives us the best chance to win a competitive game, it's clearly the guy that plays under pressure at the highest level and creates.

That guy is not Jordan Morris, not today, not tomorrow not in 2 yrs.

The best player is Lodeiro. I'm a Boca fan so I'm biased. You for sure know what woke garbage I'm talking about. You marinate in it.

Tim Weah with a nice run in behind for an assist yesterday.

I want the best team we can possibly have. Personally as far as MLS guys go I ride with my guy from Chicago, Chris Mueller. I've always considered Morris to be a temporary player until people pass him and a guy who would succeed on the old USA teams. Kind of like A Robinson. It's a new era and not everyone fits. It's a team game and going forward the right mix of players is what is most important.

I think he has a part to play but his window is shrinking. I don't think one MLS guy who will or will not get major minutes will break the team.

Yes, the MLS guys were necessary at one time. Their roles have been reduced many being relegated to backup roles. Maybe someday we will have so many guys playing at a high level in Europe there will be no MLS guys on the roster and that would be fine. I am also fine with any player in any league starting if he can ball and belongs on the team.

We're only as good as our weakest link. A player significantly worse than the others that gets major limited ruins team cohesion, fluidity, and competence. It does break the team.

Against Brazil, England, France, every dual, every touch, every pass matters

After last weeks loss, Sargents coach said how much the team missed him due to his work rate and link up play. His energy. Those are things that can be duplicated here for the USA and I just keep seeing him build on what's been a good start for him. He drops deep a lot and Bremen really don't have too many chance creators. But Sargent has fought through that to earn a role on the team. I think he is the key player for the USA. We saw last friendlies with the odd Lletget as no.9 and then game 2 it showed where Sargent is ahead of Nico in his all around game, Soto proved once again he can finish but many other parts of his game also need work. It's a long time until the actual World Cup but going into 2021 I see a gap forming between Sargent and his competitors for that spot. I think Gyasi will provide something during qualification but with our best team it's gotta be Josh a majority of the time.
