I simultaneously think MLS defenses suck and think Morris has something to offer until others take the spot. He's not a long term solution but he is a short term one.

The defenses in MLS truly are average and that's not saying much. One team that does have a good defense is Nashville and zardes made some nice plays on them the other day. Gregg is going to start him in the first important game, I think.

It doesn't matter what I say so not going to bother. You certainly are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

We don't really have any way to accurately measure the quality of the defenses. I know Bjelks wants to use Transfermarket but I am not sure that is any good because MLS salary cap skews it. Without any universally agreed upon measuring stick I guess we use our eyes to judge. We simply have differing opinions and that's ok.

I used to watch MLS religiously but it's never really increased in quality like I hoped. Just keeps getting more expansions teams with mediocre stadiums, same garbage salary cap and the same average players jumping around to 10 different teams.

I was turned off this year with the lack of crowds and them going just short of the NBA in terms of pushing their politics (this has also been a U.S. Soccer problem). I agree the continued expansion has hurt, diluted the product. No major soccer league should be any more than 24 teams maximum, preferably 20.

I think were closer to seeing a form of Pro/ Rel than a lot of people think. I believe the league is trying to get to 40 teams in order to have a controlled version of 2x 20 team leagues. Keeping the same single entity platform would help support any teams that fall to the lower league. With the NASL out of the way, USL pro would now be the clear #3 which is where most of the MLS reserve teams play. This would appease the die hard "Euro snobs" while still giving the Don control.

How do you take someone's spot if they never earned it in the first place?

@bjelks- did you read bshredders article? Said Haji Wright struggled with simple things like holding onto the ball and connecting with teammates. It's annoying when plenty of guys are given their chance and all you have to do is whine about a guy who has underwhelmed since adms27 used to rant about how great him and his brother Hanif were. Johansson got a call from Gregg I'm pretty sure he is a viable option going forward.
When you have a team the players have to complement one another. It's not eleven guys all going one v one sitting there asking for the ball at their feet. If the team is to be a success these guys have to learn to complement their teammates and put their ego at the door.

Haven't seen bshredders article, was it written since he's led the Danish league in scoring?m

I don't think we should discuss Haji not complementing the others when Lletget clearly doesn't complement the team or offer anything useful.

Same with Ream...

I think the double standards for players with domestic backgrounds is very problematic and needs to be fixed if we're ever gonna grow as a program

Don't try to reason with bjelks about Morris. He doesn't like Morris.

Its clear to me Morris is still a USMNT player. On course to have another great year and possibly another MLS cup.

I asked to show me examples of Morris scoring from outside of the box.

He showed me 1 goal from outside of the box in 5 years lol.

The other was from college.

I like players with quality.

Caden Clark is better than him right now at 17 at every aspect of football.

Some of you guys don't know football or care about winning, you just wanna get drunk, wear scarves, and cheer for guys that make you feel good

You can put it by saying that you have bias to mls players that look the way you want them to and have the background you want them to.

Tell me one credible pundit in football with no connection to mls or concacaf that thinks Morris can start in a top 5 league

You have only shown one example of Konrad scoring from distance and it wasn't at A level either. Konrad should progress much further than Morris but as of now it's still potential and there are too many variables to consider. We don't know what he will do, he could be a Barcelona starter for years, he could move to another club and be a star, he could be have a solid career but never be a everyday starter or he could stagnate and never progress beyond where he is now. Only time will tell.

We need a guy to play that opposite wing. Reyna should be playing in the middle not on the wing. Weah (if he was ready but he's not) is the closest we currently have to a guy who actually fits the role but he's not confident yet coming back from injury. So the door is open.

I actually doubt Konrad's long term impact but he is playing a position that is scarce in prospects for his age group.

I hope all our prospects pan out but it doesn't work that way. Konrad is getting to the age where Barcelona will not see him as a prospect anymore. If he doesn't produce this year I could see them moving on from him. There is no telling where his career would go from there.
