I think when the squad is full, the last forward spot (after Pulisic and Sargent) is going to be a player that runs well off the ball. Whoever it is needs to prove they can get in the box and finish a shot or find a teammate. All this stuff about low percentage "bangers" is nonsense. Raheem sterling scores a shit ton of goals in the type of position we need and most of them are in and around the six yard box.

Sterling tests keepers outside of the box routinely and has reels full of bangers

If you're not a threat on the dribble or outside of the box, you can't help CP and Josh

@Phillip he only had 1 goal outside of the box lol. Cmon dude, we know you're a fan but come on dude lol

I'm in no way advocating for Morris, you asked to see a video of Morris scoring that type of goal so I took a few minutes and found you a couple examples(one of which was pretty much identical to Konrad's goal). With more time I'm sure we would find more and there are probably more that aren't on the internet. Criticize Morris all you want but do it with facts. Don't say he can't score from outside the box when he clearly can, don't say he can't score with his left when he clearly can, don't say he can beat a defender of the dribble and score when he clearly can. Those videos show those things.

@Phillip you Sent me multiple videos and he scored outside of the box once where the GK moved out of the way. Cmon fam stop it lol.

And he didn't dribble by anybody once.

You can tell me you like whatever player you like, but don't send me videos of a player doing one thing and claiming it's another.

@bjelks- sure those things are needed too. But the midfielders and fullbacks pushing up can also do those things. If CP wants the ball at his feet and Sargent has checked to- someone has to make runs in behind. That's the point of this thread, needing someone to step up.

You clearly didn't watch the videos, they each had a goal from outside the box early in the video, the first with Stanford and the second with Seattle. Everything I mentioned was shown in the videos.

It's just hard to say we need someone to step up when Arjo and Haji are leading their leagues in scoring and being ignored because of politics.

Now you want me to count Jordan Morris' college goals Bahahahaha.

Cmon dude.

In 6 yrs, you found 2 goals from outside of the box and 1 was in college. He's a real top class winger, what is Barca thinking for not putting a 100mil bid on him?

Why are we even watching his football tape, why don't we watch him walk his dog, brush his teeth, tie his shoes? Doesn't matter what he's doing, you're going to tell me it's impressive 😂

@bjelks- did you read bshredders article? Said Haji Wright struggled with simple things like holding onto the ball and connecting with teammates. It's annoying when plenty of guys are given their chance and all you have to do is whine about a guy who has underwhelmed since adms27 used to rant about how great him and his brother Hanif were. Johansson got a call from Gregg I'm pretty sure he is a viable option going forward.
When you have a team the players have to complement one another. It's not eleven guys all going one v one sitting there asking for the ball at their feet. If the team is to be a success these guys have to learn to complement their teammates and put their ego at the door.

New faces who hadn't accomplished anything, and in some cases, still haven't.

Malik was consistently on the bench for Bayern Munich. He just recently tore his ACL. Being on the bench for Bayern Munich ranks higher than playing in MLS

So I showed that goals per game in MLS was right on par with the championship and the 2 Bundisliga, of course everyone discounted that as no proof that MLS defenses don't suck. So what metric do we use to measure the defenses. I have watched games in the three leagues and don't see MLS defenses as any worse/better than the other. What metric do you use to say this or is it just your opinion of MLS?

Watch the Colombus crew goals last night and tell me the MLS defense doesn't suck.. Look at every goal wondo scores..... its a joke

Consistently has been redefined as 3 times, none of those in league games.

Don't try to reason with bjelks about Morris. He doesn't like Morris.

Its clear to me Morris is still a USMNT player. On course to have another great year and possibly another MLS cup.

It doesn't matter what I say so not going to bother. You certainly are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

We don't really have any way to accurately measure the quality of the defenses. I know Bjelks wants to use Transfermarket but I am not sure that is any good because MLS salary cap skews it. Without any universally agreed upon measuring stick I guess we use our eyes to judge. We simply have differing opinions and that's ok.
