To be frank, I think Klinsmann is taking what he can get at this point.

He was never really that good. He simply had a big last name and his dad was the national team manager. Hes done nothing other than play on youth national teams while his dad was the senior mens manager.

And given his tweets about Donovan prior to the 2014 WC, I bet hes been black balled by a good portion of the us soccer community...

I bet this is a move that, in his mind, helps his chances at making the olympics roster. And in the event that he sneaks into the squad, I also think that he would probably seek to use it as a spring board to move back to Europe...

I would hope people have forgiven him for those tweets. He was a kid, he did something stupid. We were all kids once and did stupid things when we were kids. What he did is definitely forgivable in my view, it's more that he hasn't developed into a top level keeper, which was always a strong possibility.

I think his dad pushed for him to be at the highest level, but he's an American kid who probably was over being a backup in marginal leagues. He's from LA. It makes sense.

Horvath to Colorado seems like its incoming in a few years too.

Klinnsman was a kid, so don't think it is a big deal.

But other keepers to keep an eye on

CJ Dos Santos- he is 19 and at Benefica not first team yet but out of Philly's academy which is good.

I think we need to build more depth behind Steffen

Oops, hit the wrong button.

I don't think you can begin to compare Horvath's situation to Klinsmann's. Horvath is still on a good path and hopefully he can secure a move into a positive situation this window.

@pstkeeper- definitely they are on two different talent levels, horvath is much better. But what could be more comfortable than sunny California for klinsmann- or sunny Colorado for that matter for horvath. Unless he can get paid a lot more in Europe, I see horvath returning. Unlike klinsmann it will be for a starter spot rather than a backup role but keepers are no different than say Bedoya or Arriola. You don't have to be over the hill to prefer playing here (living in America).
