I watch Philly just to watch the kid play. He is fun to watch, I think he has a very high ceiling. Even if he isn't the next USA star he still makes MLS enjoyable and I am appreciative of that!

I watched him too. I believe he was part of the build up of Philly's goal but not 100% certain as was doing some work at the time.

Yep 20 years old another who we could take a look at.

Zardes with another goal, his first touch has been surprisingly good this year so far. Should have had an assist too but dude he passed it too missed a sitter.

Yep, I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the cup if they can stay healthy.

The guy continues to be one the top scorers in our striker pool yet everyone goes out of their way to say things like MLS defenses suck, his goals were lucky etc. Why do you feel the need to qualify all his goals and no one else's? It must be very frustrating for you that he continues to score goal after goal so you have to keep coming up with excused for why!

Because he'll get shutdown by better quality defenders at the international level. Dude is already 28 and a lifer in MLS. If he was quality he would've went to the big leagues. I had hopes for the dude but I can't get over that first touch is everything video

No doubt he has a lot of weaknesses, but the problem is we have been waiting for years for a better striker to emerge and we are still waiting. Meanwhile he keeps producing. Can we just agree that he has a place until someone better steps up.

I'm all for the younger kids and one OG.

Folarin Balogun, Sargent, and Johannsson are my call ups.

I'd like to see more of that dude on Toronto FC if I'm looking at any MLS peeps

Again, I'm not arguing for his inclusion. I'm telling you that whether you like it or not, he is still in the conversation.

I would like to see other people too. Thats not the point I continue making on Zardes. The point is that he continuously out performs his peers in the forward pool. Whether we like it or not, or think he is good enough or not, is completely irrelevant because his stats don't lie.

And when he continues to do what he does... and he continues getting called in... and everyone continues freaking out each time he is called in... I am stating the reason why. Our pool is weak, and we have very few guys who are either 1) proven to be competent for the purposes of our national team or 2) consistently performing at the club level.

So until someone else steps up, it should be expected that Zardes is sticking around because he continues to do what others are not. This isn't a theoretical debate, this is the reality of our pool. End of debate.

your on a forum based on debate lol you said many time I have a reading comprehension issue but frankly you are not comprehending my point.
but based on your analysis Zardes should not be called in. 1) proven to be competent for purposes of Nat team. Zardes is not a competent Int player. his touch on opportunity last night showed that, Stu Holden mentioned that as well-he did great work, got in the right spot, cross came in perfect and his 1st touch screwed the chance to score, those are the opps you get in an Int game-I would rather have morris up top than zardes

2) consistently playing at club-sure sounds good in theory but when you have guys like Reyna Dest Uly who may not consistently play but are better or have better potential than the guys playing it doesnt make sense not to bring them in.

If you are looking at just goals wouldnt we bring in Wondo or cj Sap or Ebobisse instead of Zardes? and why does everyone say to bring in Jozy his goal total for 2019 was lower than all of the above

Galaxy are pretty bad. I love it. But you know MLS will somehow save them. MLS will construct a new rule that will surely be if it the Galaxy.
