Hes earned his right to be in the conversation based on how he has consistently produced at the club level. It should be no surprise when he gets called up to the national team... especially given the horrible state of our forward pool.
This isn't a theoretical debate I'm making. I'm pointing out the reality of our current situation.
I think we agree alot but get to our conclusions in different ways. I agree with you saying I will not be suprised if he is called up. This board is however based on Nats fans and who we all of us think should be called up. We know what GB will do of course he will call Zardes.
In theory Zardes has "earned" a call up-but lets not forget the "wonder goal" he scored was against a new MLS team who lets be honest sucked-AL and Taylor T were talking about how bad that team is.
But here is where I disagree with you. Based on what we have seen out of Zardes on the Int level -he does not deserve a call up. Again, for me, some guys produce at club and not country and vise versa.
For me, Jesus F showed more promise than Zardes, but my point is Zardes has been given multiple chances for us, what is the harm looking at: JF, Nova, Indiana V, Sabbi, Green, Morris etc Josh S should have been given more looks, the future of those guys (come WC time) should be better than Zardes. Uly showed tremendous upside and more in 1 game than I think Zardes ever has-We have tried Zardes all over the filed to get him in the lineup-he has played wide, up top, and even in the back. So why in the world can we not get a call up of the young mls or fringe euro guys.
for club I want Zardes, not so much our Nats: I would take a look at: Weah, Green, IV, Sabi, JF,Nova, before Zardes.

Really seems to be coming into his own. He did well when the team sucked, I wonder how many goals he can score now that they are better. I would not object if he got a look, but who knows when we will play another friendly.

Again, I'm not arguing for his inclusion. I'm telling you that whether you like it or not, he is still in the conversation.
I would like to see other people too. Thats not the point I continue making on Zardes. The point is that he continuously out performs his peers in the forward pool. Whether we like it or not, or think he is good enough or not, is completely irrelevant because his stats don't lie.
And when he continues to do what he does... and he continues getting called in... and everyone continues freaking out each time he is called in... I am stating the reason why. Our pool is weak, and we have very few guys who are either 1) proven to be competent for the purposes of our national team or 2) consistently performing at the club level.
So until someone else steps up, it should be expected that Zardes is sticking around because he continues to do what others are not. This isn't a theoretical debate, this is the reality of our pool. End of debate.
A lot of the MLS games are dropping off ESPN and being streamed on Twitter. I'm guessing the ratings suck !

The only ones that have been on twitter are the ones where the Canadian team is the home team and they are on TUDN Canada. There were over 100K watching the stream last night which I am guessing were mostly US based viewers. I have not heard anything about the ratings good or bad.
Forgot to post last night but Philly's best player was Aaronson. He's gonna be hard to hold on to and I know Europe will be calling if not already making inquiries to Philly

I think when we get to the knockout games, teams will be starting to finally get into a rhythm. It was always going to be a struggle out of the gate.

I watch Philly just to watch the kid play. He is fun to watch, I think he has a very high ceiling. Even if he isn't the next USA star he still makes MLS enjoyable and I am appreciative of that!

Good left footed assist from Morris.
The game featured lots of cramps and injury subs.
