In regards to Sargent, I think it'll be more like Weston leaving Schalke, except Sargent won't go to as big of a club. These other guys are catching up. It's cool to see the depth. Even if Balogun doesn't commit the depth is impressive. I'd love to see him at Stuttgart under Matarazzo who is playing the youth and winning with good soccer. That would give USA three bundesliga strikers....

I have been saying this for awhile. I feel like he lost his confidence and the swagger he used to have since playing for Bremen.

He doesn't look like he has lost confidence to me. It is just that his primary role in Bremen's system seems to be to harry the opposing defenders and prevent the attack from developing quickly. When he isn't playing defense in the attacking third, they appear to want him to drop into their half and continue defending.

Until Musah actually plays in a competitive match he could still choose England.
He was also more of a nice to have for the English set-up, due to their depth at CM, and not a "we've got to keep him" kind of player. It wasn't until he left the EPL and started seeing 1st team minutes that he jumped up there potential depth chart. Additionally I don't think England seriously thought he'd accept a USMNT Call-Up.
Balogun is in a different category. First - He's playing for his EPL 1st team (now). This makes it easier for them to keep him in the fold/discussion. Second - After Musah accepted a call to the USMNT...the English are going to be more careful of protecting their talent pipeline and will try and disrupt/counter any Overtures that the US make.

Balogun straight up said he preferred the English style of play. He has been capped by them numerous times. I will be shocked if he switches.

So will I. I was Skeptical of Musah's inclusion until he accepted a camp camp call-up. Now I'm hopeful he'll remain with us. I guess we'll see in March.

It's bjelks & blaise213 who keep advancing him as the a real possibility. I won't until he attends a US Camp....and I have to think it would have been more likely to have happened in November than at any other point remaining in this cycle.

Musah played in a friendly, dude. He isn't capped. He stated that he wasn't going to make a decision anytime soon. People need to realize this.

Hoppe will be closely marked by other teams now, so we will see how he responds with that.

Hoppe was not a big time goal scorer with the reserves last year(5 in 20), and he had made several appearances with the first team this year without a goal. Hopefully he has taken a step in his development and he continues to show he can become a quality striker. We should pump the brakes and allow him some time before we anoint him as our starter.

That's true, but Hoppe wasn't just strictly playing striker at Schalkes youth teams or the second team. He was being played in the midfield as well.

That Barca academy AZ pedigree is starting to look nice. Araujo, Hoppe, Clark off the top of my head but I know there are plenty more. Thanks Barca. Hoppe was taught to have a soccer IQ.... it's showing. Smart runs more than anything.
