That's what you got out of that?🙄 I am sitting this one out...again. But Trump is better than the Biden-ran far left(AOC, Omar, Tlaib, etc...) that want to give this country away. This is a soccer forum so I will not get into all that but trust me, you don't want to go there.

But if I did vote for Trump, I have better reason to vote for him than you have for not. I am pro-capitalism, anti-democrat. Not pro-Trump at all. He is bad just not as bad as Biden that can't speak for himself. Trump says crazy stuff and knows he says crazy stuff but Biden says crazy stuff and doesn't know it! That's scary!

I am going to write someone in. Having to choose between shot or stabbed isn't a good a choice at all. We need a third party that speaks to the moderates.

This phrase can only be uttered by someone with privilege. And speaking as a straight, cis white male, I have those privileges as well. What about these protests that athletes are participating in bothers you?

Wasn't gonna comment that much anymore but here's my thoughts on our current climate:

F**K Reggie Cannon, dude should be nowhere near the national team. F**k these athletes protesting. Most of these fools (besides MLS players) are rich, they don't want a class debate, they want a race debate, so they can camouflage their own privilege to falsely pose as victims.

And all you woke liberals need to drop this white privilege bull shit. You need to respect all the innovations + achievements of your ancestors that make us enjoy life because this would be a 3rd world shit hole without their accomplishments.

The problem today looking back is white people never brought the traditions of our ancestors into America and unified them into one custom. We should be all signing the songs + dance of our ancestors. Shit they do it in soccer and every other culture has songs + dance traditions, why as white people do we not do this together? I went to a Mexican + Caucasian wedding not too long ago, the groom brought in Mariachis and the traditional dancing. All the white people of course catered and over embraced way too hard.. The bride (white) brought no customs of her culture at all!! I was like WTF, bring in some Celtic or Nordic bands and sing n dance like your ancestors did.

We as white people need to look back to our past and create a tradition that unites us. We need to respect other cultures but STOP this over pandering and self hating white guilt bull shit.

I am with you. Everything had become so polarized. I voted for myself the last time around as a protest vote. Being an independent living in a state that always votes Democrat means that my vote does not matter anyway.

And I am happy for Cannon and am glad he is trying to expand his game by experiencing new and better leagues.

LOL. Why do you think I asked, because y'all are posting about politics on a soccer forum stupidly. I'm trolling you, but you still managed to fall for it and give your political stance. Good job. LOL

Well, when my mother was young there was a small town nearby that had a Polish church and a German church. Both Roman Catholic. When the priest would rail against mixed marriages he was not complaining about black and white marriage or Catholic and Lutheran marriage. He was railing against Polish and German marriage.

My grandfather would go to another little town in the area to fight with the Irish.

A lot of people did not consider Spanish or Italian people white.

How were they going to have a unified custom?

In general, we all look at the world as if everyone should think like we do or has the same beliefs that we do. There is no way that I can understand the life that a teenage Puerto Rican girl who resides in New York has, or a black man in Baton Rouge.

Whatever a person decides is based upon their specific life and experiences. I am not in a position to say what that person should or should not do. That includes athletes. If they feel they need to speak out about something, they can go right ahead. Same with any public figure. Same with everyone on this board. As long as it is polite, or my definition of polite. I would never exclude someone from the team based on political view, whether I agreed with the view or not.

My ultimate thought is Reggie Cannon is a youth and has only experienced a quarter of his life. I wouldn't submit to a younger man than myself for leadership in most scenarios. You learn by experience and I think that is why we have laws that our leadership must reach a certain age.

As far as customs, we retain only bits of our heritage and less so as every generation passes. I feel if you are raised within the culture of USA then you are American regardless of where your forefathers came from.

I am still for Reggie Cannon if he gets called in but hope he keeps politics out of it. When any athlete represents USA, they aren't just representing a portion of USA but all of us.
