4-1-4-1?

Who do you think would be the ideal back four for that?

Weston Mckennie is valued at 22mm by Transfermarket as a CM.

Ully has been promoted to the 1st team of Wolfsburg

Not a fan of McKennie... said before he's a ghost on the nats. I actually favor Johannsson and Chandler on the wing too

- Balogun -
Pulisic - Reyna - De la Fuente
- Holmes -
- Adams (yawn) -
Robinson - Brooks - Richards - Dest
- whoever -

Too bad Don Garber wouldn't let this happen

Mckennie had the best scoring rate in the natl team last yr.
He did it from a deep lying center mid position
He defended in his own box and made late runs into the opponent's box
He did all this without playing 1 game with Adams or Morales at 6.

@blaise Do you understand what the role of an 8 is?

Who do you think is a good international 8 non-American and how do they play differently?

Also, I like Konrad a lot but Ully is the same age and in the first team of a mid table Bundesliga team.

How can you possibly not rate Ully?

I think Uli should his worth already so not to worried about that. McKennie I can kinda see but I like him irregardless. Adams was awesome for us prior to injury. And I would forget about Chandler and Johannson, I think their window has closed. Maybe future coaches if that is something that they individually consider.

Starting to worry about Steffen after he hurt his knee again yesterday, seems more and more important to give Horvath a look. Also, would like to get a look at more center backs. The kid from Wolves, Kyle Duncan and Richards.

Addressing Balogun, still feel it is highly unlikely but I wouldn't mind giving him Xardes spot and cap tying him to USA sooner rather than later. It might force England to do the same but Balogun's path is admittedly easier with us, consider they have Kane, Rashford and Sterling.

I don't think a player in his prime still starting for a mid table team in a top 3 league in the world can't be dismissed for a program that missed the last World Cup.

As far as CB options, Miazga, Richards and EPB are all better than Long right now.

Holmes would be fine as a box to box midfielder. He's both creative and defensively sound from what I've seen.

I didn't know Llanez was a right winger, he's dope too. Chandler was on fire at RW before the season so I'd give him a look. I want to see De la Fuente on the senior team..

Holmes plays 10 for his club team and even if he did play 8 he hasn't played it in a top league or in the Champions League KO stage.

Weston has proven ability to be damn good by World Standards at the 8 position not fine and there's no comparison between them.
There's not an aspect of the 8 role that Holmes is better than Mckennie in.

Trolling Weston Mckennie because you don't understand football isn't just a bad tactical football decision, it's downright idiotic.

Llaynez is a winger, play him where he can best help the team depending on who's available. But until Konrad gets in the first team, you don't select him above a first team Bundesliga player.
Please practice football common sense.

Weston McKennie is very much a decently average player by world standards. Compared to the rest of our pool, hes one of the best we've got... but don't kid yourself by claiming hes some worldly stud.

He isn't. Hes good and has potential. But when compared to every other CM playing in a top league in the world... hes very much average for the time being.

I don't believe I've used worldly stud, but I think he's clearly better than average.
I would consider Morales avg. He'll keep a place in the Bundesliga, but not good enough for a top team.

Wes has started for a top 2 team in the Bundesliga, scored in the CL KO stage and currently on pace for a top 6 finish. I also don't think an avg CM would be valued at 22mm at 21.

I think Weston isn't flashy but is the best we got. I don't see that changing. Most other attacking mid options are younger and in MLS with potential overseas moves later. He has performed well in
the Champions League and in the Bundesliga.

Changing gears, Yedlin and Cannon might be heading to the Bundesliga sooner rather than later.

Yeah bro I'm pretty much done talking to you. You talk like you think you're a coach on the US National team or a scout for Bundesliga. Pretty sure you work at Home Depot or a company like 1-800-GOT JUNK.

I try to practice common sense when I assess players and make evaluations.

You seem to lack understanding of the roles and importance of defensive and simple players in central midfield and want everyone to do tricks.
It makes you sound very ignorant and silly.

France wouldnt be world champs with Kante who doesn't do many tricks if any and Pogba is at his best when he's winning balls from box to box and driving forward just like Weston, but you lack the knowledge of the game to understand.
