Sure we want more goals out of Josh but we also want all our strikers at least playing in a top league to compare apples to apples

And need to perform, signing isn't enough. 3 goals isn't enough but after development then hopefully.

I agree that signing isnt enough per se. I agree that we need to look at all options. The issue is we have seen enough of Zardes to know what he brings and doesn't bring to the table. Ideally we would have Fwd that were scoring multiple goals so then we need to look at other factors.
Guys like Jesus F, Nova, should get looks. Of course JS should. We have other guys who can play up top, green, weah, etc

But I do not agree with saying someone shouldnt get called up bc they are not seeing consistent playing time with their club.

Uly isnt scoring goals with his club team but he sure showed he could hang and exceed what the guys who were playing week in and out for thier clubs were doing
I think alot of it is just scouting and vision at this point-once WCQ comes around my opinion changes

Lol I'm sorry, the gap between Long, Zman, Lovitz, Cannon and Lima and Brooks, Miazga, Richards, EPB, Dest and Robinson is as wide as I think it is.

Haha.... The gap between Lovitz / Lima and the rest is even wider still! I actually quite like Cannon and think we will see his ceiling in the next year or so after, as rumored, he moves to Europe. Would like to see Long tested at a higher level but he could be as good as Jay Demerit was if not a bit better. Would love to see Bayern Loan out Richards so that he can get some actual first team minutes......

I think most can agree we are not impressed by some MLS. Lovitz, Lima, Trapp, Xardes, Trapp and it's been frustrating to see them called into camps. Still with some they are already being phased out.

I will grant you the point about Uly because he is knocking on the door but just temper the expectations. I still don't mind seeing younger forward options get a look because that seems to be a place that we are really struggling. Indiana Vasillez just got extended by Aston Villa, Ferrira, Soto, wherever they could be start looking to find the first team striker that is there.

Cannon shouldn't be in that first group. He'd have probably transferred to a team in Europe but for COVID.

@Whyneverme--I like your Jay Demerit comparison-I like long and bummed mls screw his transfer.

I also think cannon would do well overseas it would help his game.

@samtom23 I agree with all our prospects we need to temper expectations-I really like how uly looked, now could he do that against a better Int opponent or under the pressure of WCQ who knows but i like his moxy and skill level. I think based on that performance he deserves to be called up in the upcoming games. he showed good skill, and willingness to take people on-

I would like to see Ferria (certainly earned another call up) Indiana, nova, green -I dont rate Soto however have not watch him play since WC but was unimpressed.

I glad Gio was going to get the start and that JS got some time as well.

McKennie (yawn)

https://mobile.twitter.com/BrianSciaretta/sta...

Give him a little slack there was a long break then played a superior team. He is valued by the team as the move him around alot bc they want him on the field. That hurts him, he needs to have 1 position.

ill give you for the Nats he can have a heavy touch at times but to be fair he hasn't always had the best guys around him. He needs guys around him who can play. paired with adams I think he will be fine-

who would you like to see instead of Mckennie: Roldon, Trapp, or Bradley? wouldnt mind seeing how paxton would look or to give adams/holmes a look but WK is a lock for the NATS

He wants someone from the Bayern's u-17 squad.

Mckennie has had numerous instances where he shows he can be the best player on the field for the Nats. If we ever had him playing with CP3, Adams, Holmes, etc. on a regular basis, he'd be fine. He's basically a homegrown Jermaine Jones.

I'm not here to bash Cannon. He just doesn't jump out on the screen like Dest who's younger and targeted by literally the top 5 teams in the world.
- I've seen him not be able to trap a ball out of the air
- I don't think his speed is anything special
- His dribbling is nowhere close to top level
- He struggles to play positively under pressure
- Not a threat going forward in faster paced games, Mexico GC as an example

He's a nice kid and I want to eat my words, but I have a hard time seeing it
I say his ceiling is bottom table Bundesliga and if he gets 10 starts I'll cashapp you a cool $50
Most likely I see him in Belgium or Holland mid table

I'll take my chance against anyone in the world with Adams, Wes and Holmes in the midfield

Cannon is still plenty young-almost a year younger than Robinson. He is a better defender than Dest. And just because he isnt as good as Dest, doesn't mean he can't still play an important role. Even though I don't prefer it, Dest moving up the field for the Nats isn't far fetched. Who slots into RB then?

For me, Dest is the clear cut 1st choice RB.
I think we're much deeper at wing than we are at RB and he can really make the biggest difference there.

If you're asking me who the backup RB should be in my opinion, I say Yedlin then Chandler.
If Cannon can gets 10 Bundesliga starts, he can have it.
Whoever is in the best form at the highest level.
