So day one in the books, quite a few goals scored by young American players. 21 total goals scored and 7 by American players under 25.

Cheap ownership is killing the league. Beckham brings in star players while Nashville fields a bunch of scrubs.

I don't know Blaise. I like the Bundesliga 50+1 rule. But I realise not the case of MLS. So yeah, you can blame ownership with a little more thought on my part

Young Seb Berhalter holding his own next to Nagbe. He's nice in tight spaces. Ring and others have pressured him and he hasn't folded in the face of it.

Gaston Gimenez really makes the Fire click. The attack has looked dangerous all year but coach wicky is getting everyone on the same page now. Look out for Chicago.

Also Busio at the 6 for KC is interesting. Great vision for the pass and control offensively- but he got completely abused by Houston last night. Kid needs to learn how to defend in space if he's gonna play in that spot. Crazy experiment by Vermes but it could turn out gold.

Made a sublime pass which should have been a goal and the guy missed. Should have has an assist as well as a goal. I like the kid a lot, he has a good nose for the goal and he is tough as hell.

So 7 games into the season and 3 of the 5 top scorers are Americans. Muller with 6, Morris and Zardes with 5 each. Muller also has 3 assist and Morris 2, and Zardes 1.

Not too shabby.
