I said Holmes had a case, a good one in my view, and I'd like to see him recalled. But neither he nor Ream are superstars. One got selected, one didn't, neither decision is a travesty. And I am all for giving young players chances once they have actually done something like make a first team. But why the rush to call kids to the senior team who may never pan out? We have young players who look promising all the time and then don't pan out like we would have hoped or have their careers derailed due to injury before they can get established. Getting them experience playing together is what the U-20 and U-23 teams are for.

Your point is sound in theory and I would generally agree with it but here is something to think about.
1. We have not played well for a while with the same guys
2. We missed the WC and have WCQ coming up

Most people are up in arms b.c we wasted time on the fake search-we could have used that time to hire the coach, and take a yr and play fringe euro/mls guys to see who could pan out, then solidify the pool.

Why I want want young and or dif players called now is bc once WCQ starts our time to experiment is done, and I want to build depth now. We have seen the regulars, most, have hit their ceilings, we know who we can rely on and who we can't.

I would say Holmes and Green may not be world class but they certainly are difference makers. Homles touch in the box in his limited Nat play is exactly what we need someone who can control the ball and be calm in tight spaces.

Green scored in a WC with limited club experience, Wondo had all the exp and stats you could ask for but never panned out.

But you saw what a difference SL made over Roldon. Why not try more guys like that in these types of games.

We have some legit players, if we surround them (Dest, Steffan, CP, Adams,) maybe brooks/Mckennie with better tech players we will be good--

So since we have seen many of the guys get called in all the time lets try some new guys and then make a decision who should be in the pool. There are legitimate evaluations that should take place among a couple spots.

You are right most will not be superstars but I will take Green and Holmes over Baird/Roldon anyday. From what I have seen from JY I will take him over Trapp anyday.

And if we are saying Bardes has a case-we have seen Bardes, so lets try Ebbosie, lets call Jesus F, potentially Toye, Noka, Not playing JS is not smart bc he has proven so far he can hang

but yes you have a legit point that ideally having guys who are not playing is not a great solution but we have a couple guys EPB Richards M Robinson that I think deserve a shot. if they don't pan out you call back the regulars but since those regulars haven't been world beaters it should be ok to try something new. and the new guys show promise will they be ready in 2 yrs who knows but if we gave them a chance we would see who potentially would and would not.

Toye and Ebobisse aren't ready yet. Watched them both with the u23's. Both need more time to develop.

Extremely surprised that nobody has posted anything yet about the game this evening...

Considering the Canada result, its hard to imagine GGG would make many (if any) changes considering a win is required to clinch the group. I'll go ahead and say that I bet the same squad is rolled out again vs Cuba. If there were changes, I wouldn't be surprised to see Morales or Sean Johnson in the starting 11.

I think Trapp may get some time being as he has been called alot and an unused sub.

My guess is

Johnson
Yedlin, Brooks, Ream, Dest
Morales, Trapp, Lletget
Boyd, Sarg, Morris

This is Cuba. I am glad didn't play tonight because he has his club to consider. Wondering why not play Cannon over Lovitz and disappointed to see Roldan again.

But there are club situations to consider and MLS season is done. Morris is proving he belongs.

It was always going to be a cakewalk, kind of hard to get excited about those types of games. I fell asleep jet-lagged and missed it. Nice to see Sargent start and score twice though.

This was a boring and terrible game... only thing is I'm happy Sargent scored but really...

Lovitz, Arriola, Roldan, Ream... what the hell are they doing getting playing time... they shouldn't even be in the camps... such a freaking waste to rob younger players of playing time and invites to camps... GB is supposed to be building a program not just surrounding himself with players he likes who listen to him or whatever reasons he has for continually calling and playing these bums.

Also, Yedlin is not good... hopefully he proves me wrong but I'd really hate to be Cannon watching all this time Yedlin is getting and wonderful what in the hell he did wrong to get pulled from the lineup...

They left it late but Mexico gets the win home to Bermuda

Hard fought game. Wells had a chance for the ultimate minnow win but he shot it slightly wide

Semis in June looking like:

Mexico vs Costa Rica

Honduras vs United States

Thought it was a solid performance vs Cuba. The field was shit but they got out of there with a win and a place in the semis.

Thought Boyd Morris Ream and Sargent played well.

Baird didn't play. Your boy Lovitz, now of Nashville SC, started though.

Well, he could've brought some fresh faces. Maybe try Ben Sweat at left back, if you're against young European players. Whatever seems stuck with Roldan

Baird wasn't even on the roster.

And once again, Trapp did not play. Inevitably though, there will be some out there who blame him for some type of poor result, regardless of the fact that Berhalter clearly doesn't rate him as highly anymore.

One thing is for sure about last night, that field was terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if Berhalter made the changes he did to prevent some of the guys from getting potential injuries, Brooks in particular.

Well it was technically a home game for Cuba, the Cayman Islands were just trying to replicate their actual home conditions.

Yeah, I think Corey Baird is the new Alan Gordon, where people on here throw his name in there as someone to cry about getting callups, when in reality he rarely actually is on the game day roster (let alone plays) for the national team.
