Could hurt the kid's development, for one, treating a kid as if he has made it when he hasn't actually done so yet, he gets a big head, doesn't work as hard to improve (depends on the kid if that will happen obviously). That's why it is generally best to let the kid's club decide if he is ready for first team play or not (either with that team or in a loan where the idea is to get him first team play). I want us to try as much as possible to raise the standards, while realizing our choices are far fewer than we would like them to be. But we have enough first team pros out there to at least turn over most of the roster.

Eh, I'd take the risk. There are too many factors that go into playing time at the club level for me to use that as the measuring stick-at least for the moment, given how wretched we are.

That was an inexplicable loss.

No bite no creativity no desire.

The system was always fraudulent. Other teams punch above their weight with lesser players. They succeed because the coach looks at his players and tries to best formulate a way to be threatening. Either with possession or on the counter. How does this player like to attack? Can this fullback cross a goddamn ball?

I've said that the pool is at its weakest point in history. The 1990-1994 group of players besides Yedlin and Brooks is a pit of despair. We either rely on old players who stink and /or aren't meant to play these games or super young players who have all the history and failure of the last cycle all on their shoulders.

Yet look at Curaçao ...Jamaica...Panama in 2017... teams who aren't as deep but get results. I don't want to get too down but it was an away game in Toronto. Not Azteca not San Pedro Sula. Goddamn Toronto

I'm sorry I don't think you know what you're talking about.

We just lost to a team with no one that starts in a top 5 league.

Holmes plays in a league better than mls

Sarg is a starter

Gall plays on a team that competes for league titles and in Europa.
At the very least he's better than Baird

Thought this was a deep dive on why we lost on Tuesday

https://spielverlagerung.com/2019/10/18/canad...

Nice part here rounds it all up for me:

"Despite the talent difference between the US and Canada, Berhalter's 4-4-2 relinquished any control that he would've expected to attain in the game, playing into the hands of Canada's box midfield to run (and pass) riot. Sure, some can prescribe some factors to it being an away fixture, an off night, or anything else, but the lack of adaptation to the problems Canada was posing begs questioning. This alongside growing questions about the player selection process puts pressure onto Berhalter."
