We could have really used Pomykals energy tonight. Just saying. I hate the whole bringing in a young player just to get them used to tactics. Both Aaronson and Pomykal deserve more than that.

That's why I think I would bring Ramos in.

Jay Berhalter selected Ernie to pick GB. I don't see Ernie firing GB because it was his hire and I think it is safe to say his reward was his current position.

I don't think US soccer will do anything but it is just a bunch of friends hiring friends.

But I wish they would think of the USMNT not just as theirs but "our" team.

You know, for a game that required heart why wasn't Arriola starting? Despite his limitations he will always give you 100%. Sometime one guys hustle is contagious.

Pulisic needs a break from soccer...he looks fried and being under the microscope as he has been has not helped his confidence. I also believe he does not see eye to eye with GB. If this continues we could have a divide between our MLS players and our Euro players where there is anymosity and resentment.

Christain Roldan???? REALLY????? Deserves no further participation with this team after that nightmare pass in the first half. His carelessness should be an example and swift judgement made...no more of this crap will be tolerated!

We lost the midfield pure and simple. And you know what, a simple 4-4-2 might have done the trick with CP and Sargent up top with Arriola, WM, Bradley, and Lletget. Two simple blocks of 4.

Kudos to Long and Steffen for making the scoreline respectable. Everyone else should hang their head in shame.

It's El Salvador. That's like beating Cuba 7-0.

But glad the team won.

Mexico Panama ties 1-1. This Nations league is turning out some surprises.

It's slim pickings and I'll take some joy wherever I can fond it. The game against Cuba was the most fun I have had as a US fan since the Hex.

Well, that was slightly worse than I thought it would be. I thought our ceiling in this game was a tie, but probable 1 goal loss.

It was basically do or die for Canada they needed all 3 points and we played dead and accommodated them. I thought we threw them a bone with the line up.

We put a grinder line up out there, but we didn't show up physically, so we're not winning our 1 v 1's....that's what that line up is supposed to do...but they didn't come close. We didn't have a lot of guys comfortable on the ball for a physical tight game. It was a game of constant loss of possession in really really bad spots...our own poor turnovers swung the game to Canada. I've never seen so many incredibly poor give aways. Here you go Canada I'll tee it up for you at the top of our box...ridiculous

I'm more concerned with Pulisic's mental state...he looked on the verge of a breakdown on the bench. He was not playing well with the extra defensive pressure...He got easily frustrated with his teammates and tried to do way too much on his own and basically sucked. But I worry about the relationship between GB and him...looked a little tense.

Looked like GB was telling him not to cry...and Pulisic emphatically saying "I''m not crying"

We'll see where it goes from here.

If we suck at home against Canada then I'll light my torch.

This team performed objectively better under Sarachan than they have under Berhalter and I truly haven't got a clue whether Sarachan was trying to build to anything or was just winging it every game.

I think Sarachan was playing old school US ball ...functional to be competitive and keep a game close...Arena and BB lite....no exciting and status quo.

GB is trying to reinvent the whole thing. Build it from scratch. Real tough job to do and also please fans.

The catch is it takes 1-2 years to get it close....and it will really expose us and we will take ugly losses to teams we would normally do well against playing old school sag and counter US ball.

Generally fans can't stomach looking like shit while we do this...i.e. trying to play through Mex's press and getting shredded.

Too many loses brings mounting pressure...that's exactly where we are at this moment.

The most fragile part is how the players and locker room handle the loses. If the locker room is together...us against the world mentality then all is good...if they truly believe in GB's "process" If not then we're in serious trouble.

loses are brutal for players to deal with...it takes an incredible amount of sacrifice and discipline to go into games knowing the game will be so difficult to sort out...almost a no win situation, too find their solutions on the field...solve the puzzle...it's a lot of failure and very slow microscopic improvement...

So at this point, it is about two things, how much Time will US soccer give GB with mounting loses. and will the players and locker room stay engaged during that time.
