@Bjelks

This is something you should read and reflect on.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jussie_Smollett...

And don't forget, is something every happens in real life and you face real racism rather than you just recklessly saying racism...then you are leaving a digital footprint of falsely accusing of racism.

You think this servers are so secure, if push comes to shove? It is linked to your email. And most likely your email has your name. You are actively discrediting your OWN reputation.

And this is very easy...all you have to do is say, Sorry and stop repeating the same boring
but serious accusation.

I hope you know all your passive aggressive racism and xenophobia is linked to your email.
Please gtfoh with your passive aggressive bs.
I'm here to talk football and we can't do that bc you go out of your way to put down the accomplishments of superior minority players, dual players, and young players just bc your white nationalist domestic league can't take credit for them.
You can't keep being willfully Ignorant and spreading lies and expecting me to change my tune.

@Bjelks,

I think your so biased in your point of view, you would field a team of one legged football players to the USMNT, if those one legged football players were signed with a European team.

@samtom23 I think you're so willfully ignorant and filled with white nationalist pride that you would dump Ronald, Messi and Mbappe for any mls scrub.
You're a fucking joke.
This isn't about bias, this is about creating a culture of competition and hunger in the pool.
It's about pushing players to play at the highest levels and awarding them for it.
This is what everyone else in the world does.

Is it bias when USA Basketball picks All NBA players over G-league players and college players?no it's called setting a standard and creating a culture of competition.

What makes you so uncomfortable with the concept of players being considered according to their club level as the first criteria for selection?
No top national teams win by picking players based on domestic popularity.
That has nothing to do with football.

@bjelks I would encourage you to stop calling people racist. @samtom23 doesnt seem to be racist-he simply rates players differently that you. I get it some on this board go after you based on your views-alot of time I agree with your views-I think we rate players somewhat similar. Some on this board go after you I think just to get under your skin, I find it annoying that someone would do that-. --

I think both of you have valid points-I would say a couple things.

1. US soccer is not racist--it may seem like it but player selection/callup is based on money not race--US has an economic reason to pick players from MLS.

2. It is arrogance not racism that some coaches select certain players. Arena did this when he selected his rosters. GB does it with Trapp thinking they can coach up a player that is inferior.

3. We have Jozy and Zardes who I think should not be given as many opps as they get so again not racism but instead mls bias

I argue that what US soccer needs it better player evaluators-and not to use a one size fits all approach to call ups if anything that is backwards thinking.

Lets take Chandler for example: for me: he is by far more technically skilled than Morris-however for the Nats Chandler has sucked and looks disinterested.

Morris got a benefit to being called up after acl injury with no games prior so that is a slap in the face to Euro guys who have had injuries. But the guy did perform on the Nats. Would he have been better served going to germany when he was offered the chance heck ya, he woudl have developed technique. but instead he stayed home and will be a guy who is super fast, athelitc.

Uly performance should put to bed the need to be playing and scoring consistenly to be called up people.-he was head an shoulders ahead of all players on the pitch.

For my guys like Danny Williams, J Green, and Holmes have been guys you could say racism or as I believe it is mls bais. Williams and Green played well in most Nats games-holmes showed us more in 10 mins than trapp, roldon, baird, etc

But US does like guys who "fall in line" with conservative and not having big personalities. THink of Paxton-he spoke up in camp saying he felt the best players should play and it shouldnt be based on age-next thing you know they kid cant get called up-thats not racism is it just stupid US soccer running the show.

US soccer likes guys who try hard. See Trapp, Zardes, Roldon, Wondo, ariola etc those are guys who do really good in MLS and "try hard--

I like guys who perform on the big stage and they may not play as good at club. guys lke Uly, Green-

as a previous post - i said then there are guys who play well at club but do not on the Nats: Morrales, Ream, Arriola, Zardes, Bradley, etc

For me, get me guys who can play on the Int level- we have a good pool to pick from-now its just getting rid of the mls duds--guys like Robins, paxton, JF from mls need callups I think they can help-but we also need to see-Holmes, Williams, Nova, Robinson, Dest, Gio, Uly, etc

Im off topic now. but @bjleks I agree with you but if you tone down the racism claims it will give the guys here 1 less thing to knock you on.

And for the other guys on the board-you shouldnt discount what he says bc in theory he has alot of good points

@stoled-3 Well said. I'll drop the racist allegations, but I still want players to be picked on club merit with club level being a priority.

I actually agree with Bjelks on a lot. But I felt there was an underlying issue of personal attacks. @Bjelks-it is never personal, I would still have a beer with you after all this nonsense.

I did feel like I could push Bjelks enough that he would lash out. And I also felt the board would not go along with the lashing out. Thereby isolating him on the issue of personal attacks. And I did try to back off, when it got to be too much.

There was a psychology class I was in last year that had something about social conformity. Some on this board might have been exposed to something similar. But I was hoping to put enough external pressure to result in a cleaner and more respectful board. But I wasn't sure how it would turn out.

To be frank, and I'm pointing out the obvious for those who have been on this site for a while... this isn't the first time this has happened with bjelks going off the rails like he did.

This also hasn't been the first time he has claimed that he would calm down on the personal attacks and keep it to sport.

History repeats itself. It already has in this instance. Just stop engaging with the guy, because the reality is him "playing nice" will likely be short lived.

Maybe so. But it was me that lead the charge this time so I'll shoulder the responsibility. Even if, it is short lived, I'll enjoy the moment.

Lol every time I calm down, you provoke me pal.
It's almost like you want me to blow me up.
It's very Problematic that after I say I'll back off, you poke at me more then try to encourage others to mutiny against me.
You don't have to engage with me if you don't want, but it's cowardly to take passive aggressive shots at someone.

No, not trying to pop up and not let the peace settle with the intention of agitating... legitimately pointing out that this has happened before, this in fact isn't the first time that bjelks has said he would calm down and keep it to sport, and as a result we should take that with a grain of salt until proven otherwise because history has already repeated itself in this situation.

You're quick to call me out, doing so a number of times both subtly and not so subtly throughout multiple threads... but are slow to condemn (or completely ignore) bjelks after continuous profanity and name calling filled posts attacking others (which has gone on for multiple years, might I add). Its quite the double standard if you're seeking to take the moral high ground or reference childish behavior. Be consistent if you're going to make posts promoting people to have fun debate and not name call. As I have stated multiple times with respect to your attitude towards me in particular, its clear your issue is with the messenger, not the message.

Thats it from me on this thread, folks. At least until emotions cool off.

How can you ask others to cool off when you go out of your way to agitate?

You can't passive aggressively go after ppl and expect them not to come back at you aggressively.

You are displaying a double standard of expecting ppl to respect you when you go out of your way to disrespect others.
