Steffen makes some bonehead plays.

It's becoming a concern.

Between the Jamaica and Venezuela games before the Gold Cup and tonight's hammering we sure have had a run of extra shitty results this year.

Can we move on from Morales now?

I guess let me clarify....i like Morales. Can we move on from declaring him savior of our midfield. He is better than Bradley, but thats not setting the bar very high. Trapp is not the answer. We need Adams sitting in the hole with mckennie and (insert other midfielder with high work rate here) in fromt. I hope one day we can see Pomykal in that role. I think Dest may be our left back if he decides to play a cap tieing game. He had one second where he shut it off, but he is young and he will learn from it. This game could have used Matt Miazga.

Yikes that was painful.... but it can't be shocking we couldn't beat the press when Berhalter didn't start any sure passing midfielders... McKennie is the best of the three that started and you would never say his top quality is passing...

Maybe the most strange thing for me today was Boyd... what happened to him?? He looked great in the first few games he played for USA and since has been terrible. He may be more suited for a bunker counter strategy which some could argue was needed today but wow he was non existent.

Where are the technical CMs?! Why is USA so far behind in possession type players? Is this youth coaching? Is it player identification? It's a bizarre question but anytime the USA has played a higher level team we basically have no chance at keeping the ball at all and our only chance is bunker/counter. Then when we play against lesser opponents we have no idea how to break down someone else's bunker/counter...

Sargent played 25 mins and had more attacking presence than Zardes did in 65 mins. It's not Zardes fault it's Berhalter.

I'm sold on Morales against Concacaf opponents. He showed a lot of heart. Some passing zip too.

Heart is the only damn thing the US somewhat showed.

Also Tata didn't get an interview because his English isn't so good. I'm still baffled by this.

Lopetegui was just chilling looking to interview for the job and Earnie said NAWWWWWWWWW GTFOH

I think I'm done with the USMNT to be honest. Federation's rot from corruption and incompetence continues unabated. I had hope we'd grow for years, but it's not happening. Game last night was unwatchable. Federation sucks, confederation sucks, FIFA sucks and I am finding it hard to care about qualifying for a cesspool of a tournament in Qatar when we're being given an absurd advantage to start and still might fail again. The clowns at U.S. Soccer don't deserve a dollar of my money. I think I'll be deliberately out of town for the Cuba game.

At this point it's time to play the kids. Can't wait to see a midfield trio of Pomykal-Adams-McKennie. I'm also concerned about Pulisic lack of wanting to be the guy.

Yea these games really show how badly we need Adams in the middle of the park... and I really need to see Pomykal against Uruguay.

Puli seemed to take on the offensive responsibility and I did like him a lot more as a wide player, he just had nothing to work with given USA played without any attacking CMs and Zardy and Boyd were ghosts...

I think Pulisic has a ton of talent, but he does not have a cutting edge. Hopefully in time he will develop this.

Can we just agree this US team is garbage tier. I can't blame db707 for feeling that way. The team is just shit. Regarding Pulisic, honestly I havent been impressed with his play in the Premier League and for some reason the USA media thinks he's doing great and how good his relationship with Lampard lol heres a news flash its Chelsea and they have only won once.

The big difference between USA and better teams (in this case Mexico) is we don't have the talent / experience ration we need. I think we have decent talent, but it isn't experienced enough to know how to win a match. There were obvious errors last night such as Dest's defending on the opener and Steffen over belief in Morales's ability on the second. But the third goal came directly after the USA failed to recognize a defense splitting pass that would've resulted in a shot on goal (if pass were completed). Unfortunately the player with the ball held it too long, then passed it wide, we then lost the ball and Mexico countered for the 3rd. There were at least 5 other chances like this (Even Pulisic had one where he failed to be decisive) that our players weren't quick enough to recognize. The good news is those chances were available. The bad news is we couldn't recognize them quickly enough or didn't have the confidence to execute. Hopefully we learn / gain the experience so that we start to take advantage of these opportunities sooner than later. I'm optimistic the younger players have the talent but as they say, you can't teach experience.....

He isn't a better passer than Bradley and worse in possession as we saw when trying to build out of the back. He IS better at ball winning but doesn't look extremely fleet of foot as evidenced by him getting roasted on goal #3. Bradley vs. Morales, like so many USA players, is a six in one, half dozen the other type argument.
