yea not playing today was pretty concerning for me... still a good young player but that's pretty annoying with the timing...

Read that earlier. It is understandable. Hard for any American to feel comfortable in that region at this moment.

very impressive video - hard to believe that someone can be that creative in heavy traffic. His moves are unbelievable. what is his upside clubwise? where will he be in two years? And will he still be on defense or would he be better off moving forward?

Sky's the limits. AJAX is known for developing quality players. Bayern Munich has already made an offer for Dest. Would not be surprised if he isn't on multiple clubs wish list... But even if he stays with Ajax, he'll still be playing for a big club and getting UEFA Champions League experience.

Depends on what options there are within the squad he's playing for. With the way outside backs are used in today's game it's important to have a technically gifted player who can combine will with those in front of them as they overlap.
As far as the USMNT goes i hope he stays in defense considering the options we have emerging as wingers...Pulisic, Reyna, Weah, Llanez. With Dest & A. Robinson/Cannon/Yedlin working behind our wingers and overlapping the USMNT should have a very creative & dynamic attack.
