If Dest starts with Ajax this season or plays quite often and doesn't get called in the US senior side like soon then 🤬🤬🤬

Dest with the start and full 90 today against PSV in the Dutch Johan Cruyff shield. Ajax won 2-0. Yeah he is a callup for sure.

I think the real question is will Berhalter go back to what he did at Columbus in order to accommodate guys like Dest, Robinson or even say Shaq Moore and go back to pushing the fullback high? Otherwise it's just a scrap among all these RBs for one position (there could be worse things).... but Dest has looked good as a left back so far or at least good enough to give him a shot.

If Berhalter goes with the more traditional 4-2-3-1, I think the player options improve drastically. The likes of Dest, Robinson, Yedlin, Cannon, etc...can attack on the overlap while Adams & McKennie at the 2 deeper CMs can provide the defensive coverage & bite.
I'd still like to find some additional back-ups to the CDMs....but no-one appears ready just yet.

@Dave this is a brilliant idea and I've been screaming it for almost 2 yrs. Build around 2 of your best best players in cdm Adams and Mckennie. Let them cover and defend the midfield and add more attackers in front. Instead of building around Bradley and Trapp...

I think Morales, Paxton, DWill once he gets a club and games and even EPB can play this role!!!

And for people like Tim Tillman, Malik Tillman and Konrad De La Fuente. Maybe (still TBD) you've found a nut this time, blind squirrel, but you're still a blind squirrel.

All those players you listed are better than the current MLS national team players

Ok, I've picked myself off the floor after I laughed hysterically. No.

Erratic the first thirty minutes. Caught upfield too many times. Got a yellow after he got dispossessed in the attacking third. Settled the last 15 and Ajax are moving on the the UCL playoffs. Glad ten Hag gave him a chance.

His defending still leaves a lot to be desired but that'll come with age and experience imo. Very good in possession as we all know.

Not feeling great about the Dutch interest in Dest. I think it would be problematic if we can't get him cap tied next month.

My gut feeling is he will bail on the US call up due to... cough...cough...injury
