Weah easily was our best attacking player. Between him and Dest made Ecuador respect us in the final third. Too bad the rest weren't on the same page. I like Gloster getting down the flank. His final pass wasn't there but he was constantly available. He needs a little love as well.

Durkin is already grandfathered into the soft midfield role behind Bradley/Trapp.

😂😂😂 Every US camps needs at least one ‘he tries hard and has a motor but he is just too slow or not creative enough for this level' player.

That game is on Tab. Poor starting 11 and poor sub management. I would argue Mendez should have been pulled at Halftime for Ledezma.

Might be time to move on from Ramos. He seems like he just doesn't understand the opposition at times.

Man I agree.
Mendez was awful. He lost pretty much every dual. Was caught out of position often. And looked clueless with the ball.
Ledezma is our best player technically and tactically and he left him out too long.

Mckenzie should've started over Keita, who's been a complete shit show since game 1.

Durkin being too slow close space cost us the game. Servania would've been better with Ecuador's athleticism.

Poor management from start to finish and we need to move on from Tab. He's just too stubborn to adjust his tactics.

Im excited about Pax and Ledezma's Development.

Gloster has to grow a pair.

Richards has to hit the weight room.

I like Dest but he needs a loan to a bottom or mid team in the first tier to get comfortable playing against men at a high tempo.

Soto squandered several point blank chances. I dunno where his head was at. He had a left footed tap in and try to shoot with the outside of his right, literally the hardest thing he could do.

Weah was polarizing. Some brilliant moments, some what the fuck moments. Not consistent enough, but I'll still take him over Morris, Arriola in a 3 fed lineup.

All in all Tab as well as his team weren't prepared to play against grown ass men!

That's three QF losses against opposition that was their first time ever to the QF stage. That's not a good sign for a coach of not learning from past mistakes.

Berhalter lost us this game cuz Sargent would have scored the Soto miss and Sargent should have been on the team

I don't know if Sargent would have scored that. But I know Sargent would have scored some goals in this tourney. But I agree, if Berhalter wasn't going to take Sargent to the Gold Cup, why in the F wasn't he with the u-20's all along? Very bad coordination between Ramos and Berhalter.

Tab has done a great job of pulling the program back up, but now it's time to hand it to a person who can bring the program to its full potential.

thing i love about weah is that he might drive you nuts from time to time but at any point he can turn it on. He can be playing poorly and then all the sudden bamn goal, and its a good game. Weah knows the game maybe better than anyone weve ever had come through the ranks. he knows what it takes to be the best because he was trained be the best in the world. Weah is going to be the face of the national team in 3 years

I agree about Tab. He is good at evaluating talent but seems to lack the ability to manage in real time during a match.

Perhaps a new role for him evaluating talent and making recommendations for the various coaches at each level?

Also the next step is to have more players in 18 to 20 age range who are getting more first team minutes going into these tournaments.

I've seen some people suggest that allowing him to rest was a factor. If that's the case, he never should've been in camp in the first instance. Just completely inept handling of the situation.

But overall I thought the team played very well. To bad they just couldn't get over that QF hump again. But I do wonder if Cappis, Sands, and Aaronson would have made a difference for this team. All three were getting first teams minutes and regular starters for their respective clubs.

The players (Durkin in particular, and Soto as well) lost this game I don't see how you blame Tab. If we play Servania as well people would say it was defensive. The team created plenty of chances (two in particular from Soto where he couldve hit it with his left but strangely and some may say not confidently with his right... the first he just stood there waiting for Weah to clean up was super awkward) and certainly enough to win. And Durkin was twice to blame on the first goal and didn't cover himself in glory on the second either. Ecuador played fantastic but I thought we were going to edge it in the end. Didn't happen but I don't think the team was outplayed by any means. The sentiment that Adams, McKennie and Sargent help this team is true but I was fine with the guys Tab ended up bringing. Worthwhile players were left out.

At the end of the game I thought "what if Akinola were healthy"?? Then I realized it was a good effort and for once in any tournament I remember played as the aggressor in every game and played to win. You can hardly fault Tab Ramos for that. The players just aren't quite there yet but this was an encouraging, non fluke performance.

Also @2tone- I think it's all but a done deal that Raphael Wicky is going to move up to the u20s next cycle along with the players.

Loved watching this group and their confidence playing out of the back and their passing was usually quite good.

Very disappointed with Tab and the consistent staring lineup despite poor perfornaces and especially frustrated that he went back to durkin/mendez after servania and ledezma showed well against France.

It was really rough watching Pax having to do the work to cover for all three of the mids with Mendez doing nothing and Durkin doing very little defensively... if mendez is going to play that little defense he has to score and assist on a goal every game or else you cannot start him... Pax is more of an 8, he's not really a playmaking 10 which is what this team desperately lacked since mendez likes to hang out deeper.

Dest after a shaky group round, had two fantastic performances against top tier opposition, great for him.

Weah was definitely more impactful the last two games but also as others have mentioned does crazy things too...

Sad the cup is over but several promising players from this group, has me at least more excited about the future.

Yea I'm sorry but Tab has to take a lot of the blame for starting Durkin over Servania, Keita over Mckenzie, fitness aside waiting so long to bring on Ledezma for Mendez and Konrad over Llanez.
Basically consistently playing guys that underperformed over what everyone else believed to be better options.
