Dest was by far our best player in this game.

That game is on Tab. Poor starting 11 and poor sub management. I would argue Mendez should have been pulled at Halftime for Ledezma.

Might be time to move on from Ramos. He seems like he just doesn't understand the opposition at times.

Dest owned his side of the field. Pretty much any dangerous play flowed through Dest. But that's ok you see it differently.

Welp, hope some of these young men move on and help the senior side. Plenty of options. Llanez had no plan of what he wanted to do in the final third. Just running at the defense is one thing but you have know when it is too many touches and when to get the ball off your feet. He has to have an idea of when just charging into 3 defenders with your head down is a bad idea and just trap the ball, pass it and reconfigure yourself.

Soto had his chance. Just made the wrong decision. That ball has to be received with the left. The entire goal would have been open from receiving that pass with the left. And from there it's either a first time shot or you can cut back to your right. Worst case scenario a defender commits to a bad tackle and boom you have a pk. That is not a pass you receive with outside of your right foot.

I thought Pomykal was best. The kid has an engine for miles and never puts a foot wrong. I wanna see him in the middle with Adams and McKennie.

I think my biggest issue with Pomykal is that he isn't influential enough in the attacking third. He doesn't have ruthless cutting edge yet. Maybe that will come with time, but right now he reminds more of a 6/8 hybrid versus a 8/10 hybrid.

He definitely has to take a better look at his opponent and structuring his line-up to their weaknesses. His line-up played to their strengths. Even when Ecuador attacked. Players like Mendez, Durkin were either not quick enough or quick enough in their decision making to make Ecuador pay.

Yeah, Dest was a monster. Soto has to learn his best opportunities are when he is on his feet. He is always falling over.

Durkin is already grandfathered into the soft midfield role behind Bradley/Trapp.

I will say it again. This TEAM is better than the team that lost to Jamaica this week. What happens when they reach 21?? Bad coaching? Playing for the wrong team? They were fluid, aggressive, and know how to keep possession. There were 4 or 5 players that really impressed me. There were 3 or 4 others that are pretty darn good too. Put Pulisic, McKennie, and Adams out there with 7 from this team and we win the gold cup. Very proud of the U 20's

Weah, Pomykal, Dest, and Richards look very close senior national team material. Soto, Mendez, and Gloster need a little more time but look very promising. The others still have major gaps in their game, but could very well come through.
