I think Pomykal and Soto really showed up, but love Llanez. He attacks on the dribble and looks to play players through. I really like a few guys in this group as they seem to have a natural feel for the game. I also like Dest's ability to get up and down. He isn't afraid to take people on.

so I'll say this again

Sergino Dest
De la Fuente
Sebastian Soto

All need a senior call up

Dest would get abused at the senior level at the moment.

De la Fuente hasn't made a big impact in this tournament.

Soto isn't better than Sargent, Altidore, Nova, Wood, ArJo (if healthy) or maybe even Zardes.

Hell, they aren't even the best guys on this team: Richards, Llanez, Pomykal, Ledezmam to name a few, have all shown more.

Call them all up. All more attacking potential than Roldan, Trapp, Arriola, Bradley Lleget,

It's true the Forward and the CAM have more attacking skills than three DMs

We don't need 3 DMs on a 23 man roster

Saying dest would get abused at the senior level makes no sense to me after watching today. Yes he struggled at times and he's not consistent but he was our best player on the field. Diaby stopped attacking his side because he was shutting him down. We won face many players like diaby even at the senior level, so I want dest getting experience ASAP. As for the rest of the team weah is clearly the best player imo because of his game iq, he always knows what to do and sometimes he looks bad because he expects his teammates to know and sometimes they don't. I want Ochoa in net personally goin forward and our mods have depth great game

Wow a whirlwind of a game. I was very worried about that gap in midfield, but the French didn't capitalize enough and there were some question marks on their ability to handle a counter.

Who I'm gonna go with next game against Ecuador depends on who has the energy level. Fresh legs is key. Thus, this is what I'd go with just for sake of fresh legs and not who I think would have started at the start of the WC:

---Soto
Llanaz-Mendez-Pomykal-Weah
----Durkin
Gloster-Keita-Richards-Dest (I don't think he's all that gassed, thus why I'm not going with Araujo)

Subs based on who tires out first. If Pomykal tires out, Ledezma in. Ledezma MUSTTTTT sub into this game (he doesn't have the best endurance but his skill is incredible for 45+ minutes)!

Pomykal wasn't the same after the injury, I hope he is fit for the next game.

Disagree with a ton of this. Dest hasn't played against grown men yet (Zagadou notwithstanding). He still lacks an understanding of game management, and as a result can get forward too often/at the wrong times. Diaby played far more centrally in the first half and he was influential for most of the game. He really got going when he drifted outside, but then the French inexplicably stopped feeding him the ball as much (and Keita started to close the gap on him the few times he received the ball).

This was probably the best I've seen Weah play, but he does some absolutely mindboggling things. As an example, the French were pressuring. Weah receives the clearance header and starts dribbling up field. He proceeds to attempt to pass to himself around one French player, with another waiting in the wings to clean up the play, and put the defense immediately under pressure again. It was a dumb, dumb play.

Ledezma was the best for me until he tired-pacy, with close control, and unafraid to take on defenders. Richards a close second. Pomykal worked himself into the game and was an especially calming influence after we got the lead and were trying to burn clock. Llanez was able to do a lot of what Ledezma was doing in the first half-good showing for him.

weah is our best player, yes he does some mind boggling things at times, but hes still young. He knows how to pick out a pass, and break a defense down with skill, and can do turn it on at any minute.

Dest gets forward too much yes but that is what hes being told to do. What is the rb going to do under Berhalter's system, dest fits that position, and the rest of the defense cleaned up nicely. Richards might be the real deal, handled almost everything thrown at him, and was clearly composed.

Impressed with ledezema but sometimes needs to just make the simple pass. I like having ledezma, llanez coming off the bench next game, unless pomykal can't go. This team has studs in it at every position, and the depth is great. Shout out to New England revolution stud Rennciks might never get to the national team, but what a grinder!!

I am concerned about Konrad De La Fuente, why did he stop going at players 1 v 1 like he did in the first two games, was he just too tired OR did he not even try because he knew those french fullbacks were faster than him? If the latter, that is very unfortunate because it means he is very predictable and easily neutralized by a faster defender. But its even more than that, every time he got the ball he just slowed down the whole run of play and kept turning the ball back and playing a slow pass.

No one noticed Pomykal basically doing all of the little things in midfield. Good to see Weah finally coming good. De La Fuente needs to be the sub next game. Start Llanez

Well done boys. Ecuador is talented too. Should be another good game. Is Soto better than Sargent? Rumor has it Dortmund are gunning for Soto after contract talks have broken down with Hannover.

Pretty nervous about this match. I don't know enough about Ecuador to say we are the favorite despite beating possibly the best team in the competition on paper.

I am just glad it isn't Colombia, they have our number both on the Senior and youth national team sides.

I'd play Llanez over KDLF all day, everyday...provides so much more...great vision and combo play. KDLF has a huge amount of raw talent, but he's young and tries to do too much on his own...I don't know how many times he didn't recognize the double team and quickly pass out of it. He would get caught in a survival dribble 99% of the time...just a dead end on the field. Llanez reads and reacts at a much higher tempo...enables combo play and opportunities before the situation closes out.
