Why can't the senior team play with the same poise and flair?

Dest gives away sooooooo many balls. Has looked bad. Now Gloster, booooy he looks really great! Weah reminds me of Zardes at times. His one touch is really off but has the speed to make up for it. If there's one player that I would like to go big from this squad, it's Pomykal.

I was thinking the same about Weah, his game is so similar to Zardes. Both look awkward on the ball, but are fast. Dest is really disappointing, he is very enthusiastic but he is error prone.

Qatar is going to be a heavily bunkered team. We need to get rid of Weah in this game. Get rid of Dest too. Ledezma and Llanaz please. Maybe even Rennicks in place of Soto at striker, I'd like to see if Rennicks makes better runs than Soto. Give that boy Pomykal some rest! Durkin has been mediocre, I really would like to see Cerillo, at very least to give Durkin's legs some rest. Gloster has been very good, but I'd like to give him some rest. Richards may or may not be injured, but I say give him a rest too.

Actually maybe not, we're only 3rd in the group right now. Maybe make some of those switches and the rest via subs if we're comfortably up over Qatar by 2 goals.

The reward for finishing 2nd is probably France in the 2nd round. We just have to take care of our business against Qatar at this point, if Nigeria beats Ukraine and we squeak into 1st on goal difference, great.

Pomykal was unstoppable. Bids from European teams will be coming to n.

MLS player quota

All the U-20 guys are better than the MLS USMNT players. I've been saying this shit for years

Bare in mind that in the UEFA U-19 tournament of last year, Portugal won, Italy second place, and France and Ukraine were 3rd and 4th.

The point is we'd get a group winner either way, if we are 2nd or 3rd. We can compete with almost anyone.

I'd like to see Llanez, Araujo and Ledezma all get some run in this game. I think Ledezma can provide a little extra playing out there against a bunkered squad to help find Soto and the others at the forward spots. But who knows what Tab will do lineup wise. I am confident he will have everyone ready to play. We've looked good so far I see no reason it can't continue.

Everyone is assuming France is going to beat Mali. Mali could beat France. And we could be possibly playing Mali instead in the round of 16.

That's true @2tone. But I don't want to see us play Mali.

I think people have seen the last few generations of young French players dominate the pro game and the depth of the program in France is outstanding. And this new squad is supposedly just as good. The USA felt they could've done more against the French in a friendly so hopefully we get to see the game play out on the field in a competitive match. I think many people see France (especially in this lightweight edition of the u20s) as the favorite and for good reason: the amount of good athletic and technical players they have.

This would be a true measuring stick game and see if we have gotten better since Luis Gil and company got destroyed by France a few years ago. I do think the USA is miles better and almost unrecognizable from then to now.
