Norwich paid Hannover 200,000 euros in training compensation which is wild for a player that can't get a work permit.

Not so crazy when you consider you can recoup a nice percentage of that cost in loan fees.

Add to that if he does well, he is an avenue into the American market. How many Pulisic Chelsea shirts do you see in the U.S.? Granted, it will be a fraction of that, and you do not see many Miazga or Novakovich Reading shirts, but it is still something.

Also with the end of Brexit, Americans are more likely to get work visas. So you might see an increase in US players in England.

One of the driving forces behind Brexit was to make it more difficult for non-UK citizens to enter/work, not less. Not sure if they will have exceptions for Americans.

You are right, I was mainly quoting the article about Soto. The author seems to think it will level the playing field to other countries. But I didn't think enough about it when I posted.
