Paxton had a brace for Dallas today. This dude is the real deal. USMNT fans should be very excited about his continued development as an attacking midfielder.

I'm happy the kid is off to a good start in MLS. Hopefully he'll keep performing, and will have a strong U-20 world-cup. If he can keep performing consistently I could see him challenge for a spot on the Olympic Qualification team (Back-up to Mihailovic).

I don't think he's ready yet for anything beyond the U-23 level, but if he can continue his progression he'd be a nice addition to the player pool and could see a test run during a future January Camp.

Just signed a contract to stay with Dallas through 2024, was hoping this kid would go try his luck in Europe in a year or two. surprised he signed such a long contract.

Hard to say if this is a good thing or not without being there in the discussions. We don't know what his intentions are (wanting to stay or wanting to try himself in Europe). Even signing the contract does not necessarily mean he won't go, it just ensures Dallas and MLS will get a better price for him in the transfer market in the next few years given he has years left on his contract. He could still go out on loan to a European club in January (or sooner on a two week "trial"). I believe it is standard in Europe, but if the player did not put in a transfer request, they are usually owed a percentage of the transfer fee.

I think it would be fine to stay another 2 years, but through 2024 is too long...

I think he goes the geoff cameron route and has an agreement with Luci to play 2 and then let him move on. If no interest then he is still signed with the club
