So it looks like many MLS teams are finally starting to play their young academy talents this season:

Pomykal: Dallas
Sands: NYC
Durkin: DC
Busio: KC
Alvarez: LAG. Still undecided on his national team future.
Memo Rodriguez: Houston: keep an eye this guy. I could see him getting USMNT looks very soon. Looks to have quite a bit of talent.

It's very much an uptrend. I have a feeling we will see many more get meaningful minutes this season.

It's still early into the MLS season. I expect a fair number of other young players to get minutes as the season gets into high gear.

Mihailović: Fire
Parks & Torres: NYC (Sands my be going to U-20 WC)
Carlton & Bello: Atlanta
D. Acosta: Orlando
Rennicks: Revlolution
McKenzie & Trusty: Union
Lindsey, Kuzain & Zelalem: SKC

As the season wares on and with players leaving for international duty there should be plenty of opportunities for these players to rack up meaningful minutes.

Pomykal steals possession from Trapp and creates and combines for a great chance his teammate blew. Pomykal has a varied game and this was a microcosm of how much better our young players are than the older ones. Looking forward to the u20 World Cup but if there's a chance mckenzie doesn't go because he plays too much, aren't we in the same boat with Pomykal?

No I don't think so. Dallas will release Pomykal. They have options for his spot.

Akinola scores his first goal for TFC. That u 20 team is getting harder for Tamos to select.

blaise's boy Timothy Tillman got his first start for Nurnberg yesterday. He'd need to file a one-time switch but if he starts to get regular minutes he'll be in the conversation.

It would be cool to see if Tillman can fulfill on his promising talent. More emerging talent anywhere is always a good thing for the USMNT.

Not yet. But he has to continue to get minutes. He is on loan to Nurnberg. So them going down doesn't really affect him that much.

How about this kid Cade Cowell scoring and Gilbert Fuentes playing last night for SJ against Monterrey in a friendly. 15 years old on a pro contract.

I hear Cade Cowell is going to be a special talent at striker when his development is done.
