And we can safely move the starting XI talk to it's own thread.
The future is now. Call your squad, pick your XI, who's your player you have to see that will make an improvement over what we have. For me, McKennie will show the most in the new system. His ability to carry the ball with power and efficiency offensively while providing bite is something that Lletget, Roldan etc don't have. Weston is our unique player right now and if he plays well, I think the USA plays well.

I feel like with the system that we played in these recent friendlies, assuming that it stays the same under Berhalter, Weah could be well suited to play up top.

Euro players will have to travel here, so I suppose only those that will legitimately play will come.
Thursday, March 21: vs Ecuador, in Orlando. 8pm ET. Espn2, unimas.
Tuesday, March 26: vs Chile, in Houston. 8pm ET. Espn2, unimas.
Good opponents to test the "best".

Will be interesting to see who Berhalter rates among the talent in Europe. Everyone will basically be starting from scratch so it will be telling to see which players he calls. I expect there will be roughly 26 players initially called, as he wants to see as many players as possible.
There are some clear cut players that are must call-ups from Europe. Guys that will be the Core of the team this cycle:
Steffen, Yedlin, Brooks, Miazga, Robinson, Adams, McKennie, Pulisic, Weah, Sargent.
Then there are guys that IMO need to be looked at to see how/if they fit:
Horvath, CCV, Dest, Moore, Holmes, Saief, Gooch, Amon, Nova, Wood
Round out the rest of the squad with the best performers from the January Camp and the start of the MLS season. I'm guessing they'll come from the following:
The team you selected that you would like to see I mostly agree with, except I would put in Miazga for Long, Green for Holmes, and Sargent/Wood for Nova.

It will be interesting to see who Berhalter rates to play his system from the euro options. I'm guessing there will be a few surprises. Guys that have individual skill but can't combo or process the details of his system well...causing heads to explode on this board...haha.

I see the criteria are be mediocre and/or injury-prone, but in Europe (or Argentina), or young and completely unproven, like Dest and Bello.

I want to see the most creative, athletic and technical players we have, because that's what wins trophies, playing your best players.
Who would you like to see? Who are these above mediocre players that I'm missing?

I just want us playing our best players who are proving it on the field, be they in MLS, Europe or elsewhere. I don't want us calling in guys who have been injured (like DWill, Robinson, etc.) just because they happen to be in Europe, or guys like CCV and Morales who are clearly not on an upward trajectory in their careers. Didn't we win the last Gold Cup with a bunch of MLS guys you say suck like Altidore, Morris, etc.? Where's your boy Saief, the Anderlecht benchwarmer?

I don't know if you read over the part where I said DWill if healthy. If Robinson is out, we can try Cannon. LB is thin any way you measure it.
I also said Bello or Lima.
Clearly CCV has been starting games in the Championship and getting good reviews.
Clearly Morales is starting at a top 3 league in the world. I'm sorry if USA can't honor that, we don't deserve to be then seriously.
