Here is my starting 11.

Gomez---Altidore---Gatt
---Jones--bradley---
-----Williams-----
Fabian--Boca--Cam--Chandler
----Howard----

This team has speed that can kill. With Russia now a defend and counter attack team under Capello I would look for the USMNT to have the majority of possession. If the Russians get caught out on a counter attack look for Johnson, Gatt, Chandler, and Altidore to punish Russia. I think it ends 1-1 with Altidore finally getting back on the score sheet for the USMNT.

Second half subs: Agudelo for Gomez, Boyd for Altidore, Gyau for Gatt, Kljestan for Jones, Diskerud for Bradley, and Edu for Boca.

Generally, I'm not a fan of starting players in their first callup (Gyau or Gatt) but I'm not sure how at least one of them won't start. Gatt is far more likely to start as he has played a lot more professional games than Gyau and Gyau was late arriving to camp becuase of St. Pauli's game on Monday night

I think Gomez and Gatt will be key in keeping Russia fullbacks honest. Gomez doesn't have blistering speed, but he has a motor and will run down any ball in his territory. Gomez also has very good movement as well. Gatt on the other hand will just flat out out pace any of Russia's defenders. Should be a very interesting game. Once Chandler and Johnson start overlapping Russia is going to be in trouble. But Chandler and Fabian will have to be mindful of that counter attack.

My guess though Gomez will be more of a second striker instead of a winger which will allow Fabian to be more of a LWB.

That was my lineup as well....I would like to see Mix in the hole and have Williams and Bradley behind him. Bradley needs to be the 8 for the Nats, and while Jones plays well for Schalke, he doesn't make the same impact for the Nats. Mix has the creative juices to open the game up for Gatt and Gomez...hopefully Altidore will come in his AZ form.

My starting line-up would be:

Gomez--Altidore--Gatt
--Kljestan-Bradley--
-----Williams---
Fabian-Boca-Cameron-Chandler
------Howard--

With Gyau, Jones, Diskerud, Boyd and Agudelo coming in the second half. This is a friendly, and we can make six chances (if I'm not wrong), US is not the favourites (we play away and against a strong team) so I think we should to test players and formations.

I could see this with Mix instead of Gatt.

I can agree with this completely. Test out the youngsters, we need to start incorporating them at a younger age and giving them time to adjust to Klinsy's system. At the same time, with players like Altidore getting in too early, it would benefit the entire US system to get them in early, identify their weaknesses, send them back to the club level to work on those areas and give them another look in at a later date.

I would rather see Gyau start from the get go, I mean just for the sake of helping out his club career which is moving at a snail's pace. This is just a freindly, why not help a budding star's career. Gatt is a known commodity in Norway. Freindlies don't mean anything. Help out my man Joe. I don't care what you think the National Team is "meant for", this is a friendly it means squat, you can spare ONE spot is the starting lineup for this.

Exactly, we should be doing this for every friendly, put those boys in the shop window and get some suitors in the stands, I firmly believe that's what helped Cameron's move to Stoke.

Pretty sure the D will be Fabian - Boca - Cameron - Chandler, although I really wish Klinsmann would've called in another CB besides Goodson. We need to figure out who Bocanegras recplacement will be, and sooner would be better. Not that Boca isn't good now, but he isn't likely to be starting in 2014, so why not see what else we have now?

Midfield: I'd really prefer not to see Jones start. I'm hoping for:

Kljestan-Bradley-Gatt(or Diskerud)
- Williams-

Up top: Gomez/Altidore

I like the new winger options but somehow everyone is now fine with 3 DFMs again? I really dislike when JK has used 3 (or even more) DFM's at once. We've seen Bradley/Jones/Williams on the field together and it's pretty poor offensively... how much will it matter if we have good wingers and wingbacks if the CM's can't hold onto the ball?

Hence why I don't want Jones starting. Williams and Bradley work well together because while Bradley might be thought of as a defensive mid, he's a box-to-box midfielder who can create and score goals as well.
