Wasn't a fan of not starting Llanez. Also Rennicks over Soto?

Video of the goals (both very nice, especially Konrad's):

US beats Japan 2-1 with goals from Carleton and Cappis. Looks like Cappis put his hat in the ring for a u20 spot.

It's going to be a difficult job for Ramos to select his 21 player roster. Especially since Aaronson is playing well and starting for the Union. But some MLS teams may not release their players. Sands, McKenzie, Aaronson May not be released.

Right now I would say 18 players are sure picks:

GK: Muse, Dos Santos, Scott

D: Lindsey, Dest, Gloster, Real, Richards, Keita, McKenzie

M: Durkin, Mendez, Ledezma, Cappis, Pomykal

F: Llanez, Akinola, De La Fuente

Have a feeling we will see Weah and possible Sargent with this team. Considering this team lacks a #9. Both Weah and Sargent would be massive upgrades over Soto or Rennicks.

I am going to throw a name out here for Striker: Ricardo Pepi who is tearing it up for North Texas SC in Pre-Season before starting USL league 1. He is 16 so he could essentially be apart of both U20 and U17 teams like Josh Sargent in 2017. He may be even better than Josh Sargent was at that age. Pepi scored 19 goals in 8 games for FC Dallas U 17 team while playing as a 15/16 year old. Ridiculous stats.

Anyways if let's Sargent isn't called up I don't see the u20 Striker pool that deep. Soto looks to have fallen and didn't even see the field in this past camp. That leaves Rennicks and Akinola who neither are traditional #9. Pepi is and at 16 he already stands at 6'1", and is filling out physically. Ramos May want to consider him.

Aaronson is legit. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make this u20 team. Can play any three attacking midfield positions. RAM, CAM, LAM

Unfortunate timing for the u20's and Pomykal who looks to have just pulled his hamstring. Hard to see Ramos taking him, so close to the WC.

A lot of minor injuries to players: Araujo, Pomykal, Scott, McKenzie, Aaronson, and Sands all have minor injuries.

Wonder if there is any chance George Acosta can make the roster given th recent injuries. He's the number 10 for Boca's reserves that's a big deal. Feel he's been a bit overlooked.

U-20 roster is out, aka blaise's national team. Weah's there but no Sargent. He's mostly been on the bench recently, so I wonder if he's Gold Cup bound or if he's going to spend more time with Bremen in the offseason.
