I like both. Both can play various positions in the midfield and defense. Hopefully they both in as CM/DM type for their clubs.

And now he gets to come up against Neymar and Mbappe and the crew from PSG. I think this should equal Beasley who also made the semifinal for PSV as the furthest an American has gotten in the competition.

With the quick turnaround it wouldn't surprise me to see Adams start this next match. The winning mentality of this player is contagious and I don't think it's a stretch to say his individual performance most likely defensively one v one against Neymar is one of the anticipated matchups we've seen for a USA player at club level. His value is starting to climb but it may get to a new bracket after the next match.

Julian Nagelsmann on Tyler Adams, noting wide right is not his ideal position to Kicker: "I'm very happy with Tyler. He's someone who always takes it to the limit, a very emotional player. He's someone who wants to improve every day & listens to the gen manager & coaching staff."

I think you are taking a dig at @bjelks with the mls reference but I think in part it goes with what he has said about mls in the past, and I think is one of @bjelks issues with Morris-
Adams proved he was capable of playing at a much higher level than MLS and he left at the first real chance he had-He has improved tremendously since; while it is hard to determine if he has improved at a faster rate than had he stayed in mls. I think most of us can can conclude that playing with top players day in and out, having to fight like hell to beat those players out to get on the field, then play clubs on weekends whos players went through that same mindset certainly helped Adams trajectory

-look at what has happened to Adams-the dude played grt got injured and it has been hard for him to get his spot back-compare that with Morris (albeit he is playing well ) but he was out after his ACL and was called into Nats camp without playing any games. with limited depth as alluded to by @kamp most mls guys are guaranteed starters unless they have an injury.

I dont want this thread to get to far off topic but Adams also left at a young age again I believe a point @Belks makes-It certainly sucks for guys like A Long who want to leave but cant bc of screwy rules.

MLS has come a long way, i think it is not as bad as people make it out to be. But I also think as a NATs fan we want it to kind be used as the minor leagues and if you get good enough you bolt overseas to speed your development.

Good on Adams, what a huge goal, he has made USA and MLS proud would love to see him make the finals and lift the trophy!!!!!!

Yeah, it was a bit of a dig. I think with Bjelks he partly enjoys to engage like that. Because he will be ok for a bit, then he'll try to slip in digs, then it is a meltdown.

But yeah, proud of Adams. It was a huge goal for him individually.

I can understand the logic. MLS probably does play it's higher salaried players but that's not Morris s responsiblity but the league's. That trend is starting to end partly because the exodus of players at LA Galaxy's youth academy exodus. That sent a wake up call to the league ownership in many ways.

Nice post and Bjelks is correct about a lot that he post. It's when he goes all conspiracy theory or racist theory that he is difficult to take seriously. I do get the points that he tries to make even if I don't always agree with them. Several of the players forn 2nd and 3rd division in Germany that he said should be automatic starters for the USMNT couldn't hack it in MLS. The league is much better than he gives it credit for.

Please tell me 1 2nd or 3rd division German player that I said should be starting for USMNT?

Actually, I'll be bold and say Chris Richards should be starting in the next USMNT game, so that's 1.

Wooten was one and the other guy came and played for a Canadian team and didn't even score a goal. I would have to look back at all the old post and I am at work now and don't have the time.

Yep, and Bjelks was saying that the leagues they played in were vastly superior to MLS and that they should start over any MLS guy because Euro leagues are so much better. I made the case at the time for Zardes to be included because he scored 20+ goals and no one else was even close. Bjelks brought up Wooten who scored like 17 or 18 goals in I believe 2nd or 3rd division in Germany. Both players came to MLS and struggled to make much of an impact.

I am not dogging the players and I understand that a lot to due with success is the players around you and your role with the team. I just wanted to point out the Bjelks that the leagues are more on par than he will admit.

Except I never said either of those guys should be first choice starters. Didn't even use the phrase so much better. But I wouldn't say a 2.Liga player should be dismissed for an mls player. They're actually on par

You also said that it was Morris's blond hair, blue eyes and pretty boy looks that got him continually selected.
