What about when we play teams that aren't full of amateurs? What about when the tempo speeds up? What about when he has to mark 1v1 in space? What about when he sees a high press with superior athletes?
This panama game doesn't tell us much.

Ok. Calm down. Not like this the USMNT first team.

Great ball by Lima. 2-0! Yedlin will have some competition at RB. Lima and Cannon both look pretty good.

Yedlin is below Sergino Dest

So when's Dest's senior team debut happening then?

I saw bits and pieces of the game, some of the players looked good, attendance looked abysmal, which is what they get for scheduling this game in a big stadium at the same time as a major event downtown. Completely dumb but that's U.S. Soccer for you.

Idk I thought Baird was solid. Positioning and effort was great. Technical ability less than I'd prefer. I'm sure there are others ahead of him, but I think it's too soon to write him off. This was a refreshing game to watch after what we've had to endure for the past 15 months

I thought Baird was solid for his first game. It's not like the USMNT is oozing wing options at the moment.

When Ajax sells all the senior team fullbacks who are clearly better than Dest. They are better than Dest so they are obviously better than Yedlin, which means they are ready to move to a better league and Ajax is ready to cash in on them.
Oh that's right, none of that is happening because none of them are better than Yedlin.

Candidly I thought Baird was liability in the attacking third. Sure, he ran around a lot and tried, but he kept turning the ball over, holding on to it too long, dribbling when he needed to pass, etc. Almost every time the ball got to Baird, it slowed down. I'm sure he was probably nervous and trying hard to impress... but most of the time it seemed like he was trying to do too much and it wasn't helpful.

Didn't really see anything from Roldan. Lovits didn't seem to do much (granted he wasn't really tested). Ebobisse didn't stand out. Zardes sucked.

Mihailovic looked good. Lima Looked good. Bradley looked good. For the short time that they were on the field, Lletget, Ramirez and Lewis looked decent.

If this same formation/personnel is used against CR, I'd like to see Lewis get the start at left/right, Lletget get in over Roldan, and Ramirez up top instead of Zardes. Also, wouldn't mind pushing Lima to LB and giving that a shot.

According to blaise, there's also a 14 year old dual national who looked really impressive dribbling around a cone in practice in Germany who should start on the wing.

I thought that Lletget was really bright when he came on. He looks to be in better shape and quicker than whenever the last time was he played for the Nats. Not sure if that is at all related to his injury.

Worth noting too that both Parks and Juan Pablo Torres are effectively washed up and done with the national team... considering they left Europe to come to the abysmal MLS. Gedion Zelalem is still on the books at Arsenal though, so at least theres a bright spot.

Rumors also that Toronto is working on a deal to get Terrence Boyd to MLS. Seems like we can cross him off the list too...
