Arriola is like Brek Shea, sends a cross in without looking
Brek Shea has some good highlights though... Remember his FC Dallas days? Pretty nasty. Its a shame he didn't fulfill his potential.

It will be interesting to see how Sarachan lines up. Hard to tell if we will hunker down and defend or play a balanced attack. I personally want to see Yedlin and Robinson as wing backs with 3 CBs. I genuinely don't know who will start up top, but want to see Novakovich get a long run in a game. I also have a feeling that Weah will start tonight.

@Know Nothing

Hahaha I know, it has gotten to be too much and I am definitely at fault for that. I'm not trying to goad others... only bjelks because this has spanned numerous threads now.

I disagree about the beating a defender point. Doing a move and creating a bit of space to open up a shot and scoring (at least IMO) is beating a defender. And that one pass, yes, any professional should have been able to make that... but you have to admit, it was a decent bit of play to win the ball then turn with his back to goal and deliver the assist.

Thats the point though about highlights. You can't really judge anyone on a few select highlights. That, and having some sense of consistency in your assertions. Example - calling for "old players" to be phased out, then calling for other players of the exact same age to be phased in, then telling people who disagree that they have little american mentalities and are fanboys of MLS and the American system. That is, well... ridiculous.

What matters for our pool is that guys are playing consistently in a competitive league and have earned the right to be called into camp.

I'm with @knownothing. He didn't stand anyone up, wrong foot them and leave them behind in either clip.

Again you're twisting my words in regarding to phasing old players to fit your narrative. If you're a player that has previously proven you couldn't cut it internationally or at the club level and have declined in competition and quality of play, I said you don't have the mentality or the ability this team needs to progress. If you're an "older player" and still playing at the highest level like D Will premiership or Morales Bundesliga, Fab Bundesliga, you're the type of vet presence we need to progress.

Until MLS teams prove that they can at least beat Championship or Bundesliga 2 teams consistently, or produce more Premier and Bundesliga players than the respective leagues, I like the rest of the world not including America will view it as a 3rd tier and retirement league for former stars. So when someone says an MLS regular with no special athleticism or skill like Trapp, Roldan or Delgado deserve a spot over a younger player playing regularly in a Scandinavian league or Bundesliga 2 or Championship with more skill and athleticism , I will continue to infer that they have a bias to MLS players.

Again you're entitled to your own opinion, I'm entitled to mine, but until this program starts picking more athletic and skillful players, we won't progress. If Trapp, Delgado, Roldan are playing consistently in a lower league than Bundesliga or Premier and we all know that he's not better than D Will or Morales and couldn't make their team or play in their league , what's the rationale of picking them if we want the best players?

Brazil is bringing a strong team. Unless we commit numbers forward to play a crazy open game, I don't think having two forwards will serve us well. Especially if they pin back Yedlin and Robinson with dominant possession. I think it naturalyl morphs into a 4-2-3 or 5-4 back line/midfield. I like Trapp's game but he shouldn't be a sole 6 in a 3-5-2 against Brazil, he'll need some help...rather see McKennie also with him.

I guess it will depend how much Brazil wants to play...maybe low key until they step on the gas a little with 20 min to go. It's a friendly, so probably a fairly tight foot off the gas scoreline.

Interesting. I think this will likely be our back 5 (including Steffen) moving forward in the next cycle. With the exception of Pulisic, this is probably pretty close to what our team may look like. This should be a good test.

And Arriola gets to prove he's a help defender tonight. Wood is going to be isolated as usual unless somehow we can get Brazil off the ball and control it for spells.

So much bullspit about antonee robinson by twitter people. He is not perfect but given he is going against one of the world's best wingers with very little help from julian green (arriolla is helping yedlin) they are simply targeting him outright.

Should have played the USA V FRANCE lineup.

Tyler Adams play has matured.

Arriola still is not able to cross the ball to a usa jersey (excluding ones in the stands)
