McKennie is our 6 (he doesn't do enough for us as an 8)

A lineup I'd love to see in September:

----Sietbachu
Amon--Pulisic-Parks-Lleget
----McKennie
Robinson-Miazga-Brooks-Moore/Yed
----Steffan

Still can't project Siebatcheu.

What I hope to see

---Sargent---
Amon---Pulisic--Gyau
---Adams--Mckennie-
Robinson-Brooks-Miazga--Yedlin
----Steffen---

Amon May be with the u20's.

By September we'll have a new coach (hopefully not named Sarachan). The new coach is going to want to re-evaluate their player pool based on the style of play & formation that they desire to run.
It's going to be very difficult to determine what the call-ups are going to be, let alone what the starting XI may look like.
We all should expect a number of the 2018 cycle veterans to be called back into camp for the new coaching staff to see first hand; we shouldn't expect to see any New faces called up. I expect there to be roughly 30 players called for the Sept. Friendlies.

Who I expect (not who I want) to see called up:
Keepers: (4) Guzan, Steffen, Hamid, Gonzalez/Horvath
Defense: (10) Yedlin, Brooks, Cameron, Villafana, Miazga, Moore, Robinson, Lichaj, CCV/EPB/Parker/Ream
Midfield: (11) Bradley, McKennie, Adams, Lletget, Parks, Pulisic, Saief, Arriola, Weah, Green, Nagbe
Strikers: (5) Jozy, Sargent, Dwyer, Zardes, Novakovich

The new manager is going to want to know what players can contribute right now, and which are more of a project.

There is nothing wrong with that list. I mean that's pretty much the player pool right now. I would add Gyau and Wood.

I think we can do without Villafana on def.

In midfield, we can let Bradley, Arriola, Lttetget, and Nagbe go.
DWil, Morales, Gyau, Amon, Gall, Hyndman, and Scott should be available.

At striker Jozy, Dwyer, and Zardes, thank you for your service.
Insert Wood, T Boyd, and reach out to Siebatchu.

I forgot Wood, and could easily see him being called up. However, considering his poor club performance last season, he may be trying to break into a new club.
I'd love for Gyau to make it back into consideration, but I don't see it happening by the September break.

You still need a backup @ Left Back. Neither D. Acosta or Farfan are ready yet for the Sr. National Team. That leaves Villafana or Lichaj. I went with the younger of the 2.
While I'd love to move on from Bradley & Nagbe, I don't see it happening until after the 2019 Gold Cup.
Even though I'm a DC United fan, I'm not a fan of Arriola at the NT level. IMO he's too 1 Dimensional, and has been overtaken by others.
I still believe that Lletget will contend through the 2022 cycle for a place in the 23. I don't think he'll make the final roster, but he's likely to be in the preliminary 30.
I like D. Williams, and think he'll be back in the picture for a little while, but not by Sept. He's coming back from a season ending injury and isn't likely to be back to match speed yet.
IMO Morales is done with the NT. I was a fan of his, but I think the new manager will side with either Bradley/Williams for their Experience, or McKennie/Adams for their youth/energy.
Amon, Gall, Hyndman & Scott will all be in the picture, but I can't see a new manager jumping that deep into the pool for their first Camp.
I admit I forgot about Wood. See my comments above.
Boyd is another player I think is done with the NT. I may be wrong, but he's going to have a hard road.
Siebatchu should be in the picture, but again I don't see a new manager going this deep for their first camp.

Now that we know who our September friendly opponents are: Brazil sept 7 and Mexico Sept 11. Who would you guys call up: I would call a 28 to 30 man roster:

GK: Gonzales, Bono, Steffen

D: Yedlin, Moore, Robinson, Chandler, Lima, CCV, Parker, Miazga, Brooks, Zimmerman

M: Mckennie, Adams, Parks, Morales, Trapp, Acosta, Lletget

A: Pulisic, Wood, Sargent, Nova, Gyau, Green, Rubin, Weah, Siebatcheu( if he accepts)

When looking at the best 11 US players of this year and every year since 2009, has there not been a consistent gradual increase in Club Performance SIMULTANEOUS WITH a consistent gradual decrease in National Team Performance?

I would agree, and I think travel has a lot to do with it. Players have to travel from Europe for qualifiers, there is no way around it, but for friendlies as well?

With our young squad it shouldn't be an issue now, but in the future as they get older and more established if we are going to be playing a Brazil or Argentina, whose best players are in Europe as are our best players, why not a neutral site? We could approach Dortmund or Spurs about renting the stadium and would probably still get the same crowd we would at home.

We can still play friendlies over the summer on domestic soil. saving that, in the future schedule the first of two friendlies at home and the second in Europe.

I think Bradley, Jozy will be included as well for leadership and veteran presence.

Hmm. Both are having bad years and I think the US should stay the course with the younger generation. I could see Zardes called up though.

Jozy and Bradley are the biggest failures in US history and have been washed for 3 yrs now. They are incapable of leading young players on the verge of being world class players.
I also don't believe Zardes has the quality to be a part of the team going forward.
EPB over Zimmerman.
No need for Trapp or Acosta with Mckennie, Parks, Adams, Morales. Bring in Saief and Amon if healthy.
Gall deserves a look as well.

For Brazil/Mexico

GK: Bono, Steffen

D: Moore, Robinson, Lima, CCV, Parker, Miazga, EPB

M: Mckennie, Adams, Parks, Hydnman, Lletget, acosta, Saief if healthy

Here are some of my thoughts

1. I just dont rate Moore as high as some on here, if he get consistent time on the pitch, 2022 he certainly could be. That being said I would like to see him get 90 against Mexico and maybe even 90 against mexico. I would love to see Yedlin in Mid so if moore can develop that would certianly help us.

2. I would let the new coach decide on Chandler but for me he never played hard nor looked good for the Nats so why risk polluting the young kids

3. No need for Zimmerman

4. I guess we could bring in Brooks but my thought albeit negative is he is hurt often, we know if healthy he is in our squad so lets use this time for the younger guys,

5. EPB needs mins, for me he has looked better than CCV who I think hasnt looked that great-be nice to see MM EPB pairing for 90 and then a MM Parker 90 pairing

6. we know what Trapp brings I am ok with him being called in, my guess is he is a good leader and works hard however I dont want to see him on the field at all.

7. I would argue to leave Wood off the roster as well. Lets see Sargent get 90 and --call in someone who really doesnt deserve a look yet but could in a cple yrs that kid from Atlanta maybe carlton

8. would also like to see Parks get 90 as CAM

I would like to see us use 2 forwards as well.

I am curious how you guys would feel about Sarachan giving Dempsey a 35-40 minute first half farewell game against either Brazil or Mexico to honor his MNT career?

Dempsey is in such a US legend that I would be fine with this especially if we don't yet have a new coach and Sarachan is still in charge.

I was ok with moving on and having Dempsey and Donovan share the record, but now f*** Donovan, get Dempsey an appearance and a goal.
