But I agree Trapp is probably not the guy for the 6 moving forward. I'm sure the new coach will try some different players their. Would love to see Morales brought back in, as well as continue with Mckennie back at the 6 where I think he is better suited.

Shaq Moore is clearly better than Yedlin

Sometimes I wonder if you guys actually watch these games?

Dave Sarachan is a joke

Only 1 sub because of injury. He thinks he's playing in the world cup

My guess is that they had some agreement with France. Remember this is their final tune up before the WC. We want your best players for X minutes. That is what I might ask for before agreeing to play a team not attending the WC

I literally lol'd at that. But for Sarachan this interim manager role is like a World Cup to him so he is taking it seriously and rightfully so. I do not think he should be anywhere near our long term head coach but he is doing exactly what the fan base is asking for, playing the kids.

But this match shows these kids can get a result vs. technically sound teams but against physical teams like Ireland, it shows these kids are just that kids and need to get stronger. These last two matches kind of told the story I feel if they were a bit stronger, they could have kept more possession vs. France and not have to defend 70% of the time, which is a lot to ask for from anyone without creating many quality counter attacking chances and they would have beat Ireland because the technical quality and stamina is there.

Lol we didn't give up 80% possession because we were young we gave up 80 % possession because we played 5 backs and 3 defensive minds smh.

The possession should look different with mire wingers and attacking mids.

Instead of Nagbe, we need to see Pullisic, Saief, Amon, Gyau, Gall, Hyndman. Scott, Tillman, Parks..

And for god sakes get Trapp off the field.

It's all relative brother, we played the 5-3-2 because we were young. Regardless of what formation we would have played we would have not done much better than that in possession vs. France even with our best line-up. It would always be at least 60-40. We have never been known for being a country that values possession. We do not have those type of players yet.

I think we learned alot from these matches.

I like Moore, I think he will be good good for us, but he is not better than Yedlin-however, if he continues to develop he can be, and then I would like to see Yedlin moved to mid.

Robinson-this kid I thought played really well, he is fast and needs to work on defensive positioning but he is very confident on the ball-he looked to play the ball out in tight spaces vs booting the ball up field. For me he cemented himself as the starter

I have no clue why Sarachan took him and Moore off.

Julian Green proved again that he has technical skill-and-he scores against good teams but most important he can trap a ball. If he can develop be interesting to see him underneath the forward and allow pulisic to go out wide.

Parks-what a shame we didn't get to see more of him.

Mackenzie just needs rest he will obviously be a long term player for us

Adams, the loan will do him good-

It thought EPB did well as well

You have to give Tim Parker credit he plays simple, not the best footwork but he is a solid defender

the best part of these friendlies is we saw for the most part most of the guys who came in can contribute

I think the biggest losers of these games.

Villafana, Corona, Hamid.

Like it or not, Trapp will keep getting call ups-he doesn't hurt depth wise but he wouldn't be in my 23 if everyone is healthy.

would like to see Sergeant in this game vs wood but understand why he had wood out there.

Now lets just hope to get a solid coach he wants to play PROACTIVE futbol. We do have the guys to do it now.

+1. It will be a long time before we aren't dominated in possession in an away game against France's A team. Maybe if our young kids develop as hoped, we could close that gap come ‘22, but we would still play a defense-counterattack approach.

There might be 3-4 teams in the world that would be able to match possession with France. We certainly aren't one of them.

The France game pretty much confirmed everything I knew.

Midfield is going to be hotly contested in 2018.

Steffen is my choice as the no 1 but Alex Bono and Hamid (if he gets games) aren't far behind.

Moore and Robinson need to keep progressing because they have loads of potential.

The France game showed me how our style still sucks and we bunkered down like Spain 2009.

I missed the beginning and didn't realized we played with 5 in the backline until the game was over.

Style of play in this game was dictated by the coach-Saracan played to get a result and put is name in for consideration to be the coach.

We do have the players now to play more attacking soccer.

Mackenzie, Parks, Pulisic, green, MM, Robinson-can all trap and pass underpresure

Adams touch will get better with his loan

add in Williams etc, and we have a core group of young overseas guys who will be able to allow our new coach to play a more attractive style.

We have to trust these kids, they showed well against Portugal and held their own against France.

Yedlin's first touch under pressure is cringeworthy. He never developed the ability to turn out of pressure. Now, Moore was making these turns and moving forward with ease. That's why Moore is better.

If that were even remotely true, people who can actually assess these things like Sam Allardyce and Rafa Benitez wouldn't have put Yedlin on the field as a regular starter. You clearly missed Moore getting beaten badly trying to defend on multiple occasions as well. He has definite potential but needs to continue developing his overall game including his defensive positioning and awareness.

Yedlin is on the field for his raw elite athleticism. His technique and iq leaves a lot to be desired.
If his technique and iq were better he'd be playing in Champs League.
I'm more concerned about Yedlin back passing or turning the ball over under pressure because of inability to turn with it or pick out a pass in tight space than Moore getting beat due to being out of position. Moore's awareness can improve with games. With Yedlin's technique, it is what it is.

Both of them have elite recovery speed.

That game was about Robinson coming through.

We finally found the LB we've been waiting decades for...

Robinson, Miazga, Mckennie and Steffen were outstanding...Mckennie is our 6...done deal...it isn't even close in my mind...he'll tidy up the passing over the next year or so...everything else is there.

We have some really stout hearted talented players coming through...really stoked.
