I think this may be the game Nagbe and Delgado torpedo their future chances.

On the other hand it's a good test for the young CBs to show what they have. Steffen too.

Trapp is captain? I was sure it would be Yedlin.

Age doesn't matter if you're trash, Roldan nor Trapp are rumored to play in Bundesliga 1 or 2 anytime soon. So why invest in young players with low ceilings? Morales could still be a 1st or 2nd division player in 4 yrs which is higher than Roldan or Trapp have seen.

I've said repeatedly that if you don't want Roldan or Trapp, that's fine, but that doesn't mean Morales is deserving of a call up. He's not. He's not going to factor into the equation in 2022. It's just not going to happen. I mentioned age because that is a reason why the decision-makers are considering guys like Roldan and Trapp, while leaving Morales out.

I'd also add there's far more chance that a guy at 22 improves a lot more than someone who is 28, particularly when that 28 year old is a journeyman/replacement level player.

Finally, something should be said about the quality of the MLS. I'm no fan of the MLS and rarely if ever watch it. That said, I guarantee you that there are a lot of guys in the MLS that could play in at least the second division in England, Germany, Spain, etc. However, because these guys are limited in their upside, and it would be more expensive to bring those guys over, coupled with the fact that there are comparable domestic players in those countries, there is no incentive to sign a mid-20's MLS player. It's analogous to recruiting in college football. If I'm a mid-level school in California, I'm not going to try to recruit the same level kid from Florida that I can get in CA. The expense just isn't justified even though it's the same quality of player.

Adams is so much quality. The way he traps the ball. His first touch is not world class but wow. And Almiron with Adams should leave MLS soon for their growth. Adams can be a sort of Makelele.

Delgado can be so underrated and while he is no adams or mckennie he can definately be an excelleny squad/depth player. Being in toronto has done him wonders but needs to go challenge himself in Europe, can take another step.

Saief is easily the best player on the field

Adams needs to mls as soon as possible or hell be stuck at this level forever...that penalty he drew should've been a two touch finish

Villafana looks mediocre still

Trapp had some of the worst giveaways of the game

CCV is a monster and Miazga is Cbampions league quality

Delgado is timid...few shot opportunities at the top of the circle he layed off

Mark my words will trap Trapp and Roldan will never start a game in Bundesliga.
They just don't have the quality.
Might as well bring in a clearly better player playing at a higher level, at least for the integrity of the program.
Alfredo Morales is a younger and playing at a higher level than lichaj and villafana so age isn't a factor.
No I don't agree that the avg mls player can play in Bundesliga 2.

Who is asking for Lichaj or Villafana?

Who said that average MLS player it could play in 2.Bundesliga?

But as an aside, how do you figure that Morales is playing at a higher level than Lichaj? They are the same type of player.

Paraguay plays nasty.
Novakovich should've layed that ball off for the runner in the central channel, his shot was too weak to keep it
