That's my point, his last USMNT game he was mediocre. He is overrated in the sense that there are a lot of people who want him to be a USMNT starter. That's all I meant. His potential is a different story, I am talking about overrated in terms of what he is right now.

IMO the fault of Adams last performance (mediocre) is squarely on the coaching staff. Adams is not a creative midfielder. He's not great in close quarters, or delivering the killer pass. He is either a Box-to-Box CM or a CDM type. His athleticism allows him to pressure opponents, he has good speed & technical ability, and does well maintaining possession.

I'd like to see a 4-2-3-1 formation with McKennie & Adams playing the deeper CM spots with Pulisic, Scott, or Parks in front of them centrally and a couple technical burners out wide (Saief, Green, Arriola, Weah, Taitigue, etc....).

I think most of our goals are going to come from the 3....at least until we find a striker who's ruthless in the 18. Right now we've got some hustlers, but no-one with that killer instinct.

Adams brings athleticism the others do not have, he brings speed, and most importantly he has a chip on his shoulders, plays like dempsey almost mad and out to prove himself.

now, if you take an honest look, he needs better technical skill--I do not think he will be world class, but I think he could be a very solid player for the NATs if technically he gets better.

I do not mind him starting the next few games to we can begin to see how far behind technically he is vs other potentials Nat players, or to find out where he will fit for us, he is a versital player as well.

He is continuing to grow. Honestly I just don't see it in Roldan, Trapp is solid mls player and actually played well last game, but I do not see him getting to much better nor being a starter for us, he will be a bench guy or someone to bring in late if we are up.

As raw as Adams is, his athleticism sill makes a class above Roldan and Trapp as a defensive mid...

Yeah man, i'm always on the same page as you. Roldan and Trapp are garbage.

I agree, Adams is still a bit raw technically for international comp in the middle, but he gives us more range and coverage than Trapp.

It'd be interesting to see EPB as 6 with Mckennie slightly ahead...with Saief as acm. You could swing Adams out wide as long as the other flank mid is a solid attacking option, Maybe Weah or Manneh.

I can live with Sarachan as the head coach for the time being.

We needed a visionary like Klinsmann, probably better suited in a director role (does anyone still have his number? I hear there are two positions availbile in the USFF .. jokes) but for now we just need someone who's willing to put together the task of getting the youngsters familiar with each other and allowing that to produce their identity on the field, or instituting it from the start. Something like the attitude against Portgual where we just get on top of teams, counters be damned, put pressure allow the centre backs to come off the line and fill the zonal role once the CDM finds a mark. Take the game to our opponents. If this wasn't Sarachan let me know, because that looked great.

It's been awhile since I've posted on here, freaking windows 10 updates and loss of passwords and such. Here's an unsolicited starting 11 from the group that is going to play Paraguay and one hopefully in a couple years we'll see.

G STeffen

RB Moore
CB CCV
CB Miazga
LB Robinson

LCM Adams
CM EPB
RCM Mckennie

LF Rubin
RF Weah
CF Novakovich

G STeffen

RB Yedlin
CB CCV
CB Miazga
LB Brooks

LCM Adams
CM Parks
RCM Mckennie

LF Pulisic
CF Sargent
RF Weah

Cartlon, Durkin, Goslin, ah man this whole thing was pointless

Rubin is a pretty creative and skillful player. Could we try him as a central attacking midfielder?

My lineup if I were coach:

4-1-4-1
(I am playing new players as a point)

--------Weah
Manneh-McKennie-Rubin-Saief
---------Adams
Robinson-Miazga-CCV-ShaqM

If Adams doesn't perform well, then take him out at halftime for Trapp or even EPB. If Weah doesn't play well, then replace him with Novakovich (I don't need to see Wood).

Parks should have time to get integrated. He has been announced to be with Benficas first team next year, hopefully the summer friendlies are his chance to play for USA.... A midfield three of Adams in behind Parks and McKennie is a nice start after missing out on Gonzalez.

I think adams field vision offensively is better than what some of you give him credit for, especially in the CDM position. With Pulisic and some better attackers all he really has to do is win the ball and pass to a teammate to be creative, and he certainly transitions well from turnovers learning the NYRB press and attack style. He's a quick thinker out there.

If you're thinking about Rubin for creativity in the final third, why not just give him a third of the final third with two other forwards he can play off of?

@Rey Regicide - Depending upon what the new coach's philosophies are there could be any number of potential formations & players that could factor into the Player Pool and Squads selections....
Keeper: Hamid, Steffen, Horvath, Gonzalez, Bono, Klinnsman
RB/RWB: Yedlin, Moore, Olosunde, Dest, Fossey
LB/LWB: Robinson, Farfan, Payne
CB: Brooks, Miazga, CCV, EPB, Glad,
CM: McKennie, Adams, Acosta, Parks, Scott, Lletget, Hyndmann, Senora, Canouse
LM: Saief, Green, Amon, Manneh, Taitague
RM: Pulisic, Arriola, Weah, Lennon, Gooch, Carleton, Perez
CAM: Pulisic, Saief, Scott, Parks, Akale
F: Sargent, Novakovich, Weah, Akale, Siebatcheu, Rubin, Jozy, Wood, Morris,

There is a still a lot of time between now and when the next HEX rolls around. There's no telling who'll be healthy, who'll be in form, and who'll be emerge between now an then. But this is a decent group of young players to start with.

It's about professionalism and the skill to attack. If we can get the first one back and incorporate the second, the USA will be a handful in 2022.

Love the team pool, on the contrary, we do not have a whole lot of time... After Coach decision, our first target should be Gold Cup (for Confederations Cup), Qualifying Olympics

The inherent problem is that half o four rosters depend on them getting full time minutes. Pulisic was an amazing roller coaster that was promised turned to solid ground very very quickly. It was a bit of good timing and good fortune for us, however qualification turned out.

And yet he could STILL be in a position where he falls out of favor and goes to a different club. All of our those youngsters, even Miazga who's a starter only because he's out on loan, still have a mountain to climb.

Us Soccer and US fans have to understand that a some time starter for a champions league team, a bench player for a Bundesliga team, and a starter for a Eredivise are all better than anyone on an MLS All-Star team.

Like Roldan or Trapp over Alfredo Morales makes no sense to anyone outside of MLS
