Aron Johannsson was originally called up. But apparently a leg injury is an ongoing issue with him right now. Probably why he isn't seeing many first team minutes with Werder the past few weeks.

Where did you hear this? Only found a bundesliga article saying he's waiting to be called up!

Not on board with Sarachan and bad news on his extension! Since he didn't call up the right midfielders I go with:

4-3-3

-- Weah - Novakovich - Rubin

- Manneh -- Nagbe -- Saief

Robinson - CCV - Miazga - Yedlin

------- Steffen ---------

Read it on Goal.com. Who knows if it's accurate.

ESPN reported the same thing.

Based on the players called, I'd go with something along the following lines:

-------------Wood-----------
--Saief------Nagbe-------Rubin---
-----McKennie-----Adams--------
Robinson---CCV----Miazga----Yedlin
----------Steffen------------

Subs: Moore (Yedlin), Weah (Rubin), Manneh (Nagbe, Saief moves central), Novakovich (Wood), Lichaj (Robinson if needed), Hamid (Steffen)

A semi-vet along each line to provide some leadership, while also blooding the youth.

I think EPB is a guaranteed sub, as they will try their best to help him get a work permit. Have him play in every friendly between now and August to show is a permanent part of USMNT

I don't like the Nagbe call up. I especially don't like him centrally at all...totally anemic in the attack and little defensive ability.

This team doesn't really have an acm, although a couple guys can probably pull it off. My first choice would clearly be Saief.

Paraguay is a quality side, so we'd probably need to be in a 4-2-3-1.

I'd play Mckennie and Adams as the two deep mids, but Saracan't will start Trapp.

I'm fine with Mckennie/Adams/Saief as the central three.

Nagbe should have been treated like Bradley. Someone to not call up for a long time (or ever again). If anything, I'd rather have Bradley than Nagbe. Nagbe adds lethargy to a team.

That age group of Nagbes was never good. We tried this with Mix and others, they are average players. Time to move to a younger age group with a higher ceiling, and watch them grow. We failed for a reason and it's time to move on from that group of marginal talent. It's a waste if we don't see Adams and McKennie start together. The CBs were a good choice as the coach basically is forced to play Miazga with CCV (or EPB). Roldan, Nagbe, Trapp are inferior to the others and shouldn't start.

Dare I also suggest that Tyler Adams is really overrated.

I disagree. There's nothing he has shown to suggest that.

That's my point, his last USMNT game he was mediocre. He is overrated in the sense that there are a lot of people who want him to be a USMNT starter. That's all I meant. His potential is a different story, I am talking about overrated in terms of what he is right now.

The whole team should look like that.... unfinished products. The fully developed player should just blew it. Kenny Saief or McKennie are similar to Adams or CCV, EpB or Robinson, Novakovich.

I want hungry players with talent. They've been selected, now for them playing the game....

+1000

If I had it my way like Burger King, Adams wouldn't make my 23 man roster.

As raw as Adams is, his athleticism sill makes a class above Roldan and Trapp as a defensive mid...
