He's not a hack. He's a bright dude who understands what's in play.
The candidate list was awful. A few firebrand ex athletes without enough experience for the actual position. A couple candidates that had the acumen and experience to technically navigate the job...both insiders.
Imo, the takeaway is everybody was on the same page to appointment a technical director to make the actual soccer performance based decisions...huge positive. Let the business minds work on the logistics and let the soccer folks revamp the entire soccer system.
And why in the world would we settle for Wynalda or Kyle Martino as technical director just due to the fact they were candidates for the president position...we need to aim much higher than that folks.
