I don't disagree with that take overall @db707 but you keep saying it doesn't matter that Dest plays in the 2nd division. He's not the same at the youth team Olusunde. And while I think I agree Dest is a better overall soccer player than Yedlin, he's not currently at the same level nor does Yedlin need to be moved out at RB. Yedlin is quietly putting up an all time club career and has been pretty good for the USA too. Yedlin at RB, Adams at CM, and Pulisic at AM are basically our only players who should be locked in. I would never play Dest over Yedlin right now or anytime soon. If we call up Dest for evaluation cool but not over Yedlin.

Also I think we should call in Beasley for the LB spot. Maybe play someone else in the stay at home role but if we move to a more "normal" 4-3-3, the type Berhalter used in Columbus with the fullbacks pushed up higher, I would play Beasley. Let him mentor the younger players and have a role on the field. He's still the best we have especially in limited minutes and he's not a loser like Gonzalez. Berhalter has made it clear he likes guys for what they are doing now and so I think it's time for the legend Beasley to get one more crack at it. The other LBs have not impressed.

We need to maximize the strengths of our current player pool during the Gold Cup, while also looking towards the future of the program.

----------------S-TBD----------------
-------Pulisic--------------M-TBD-------
-Robinson-----McKennie----Adams------Yedlin--
------CCV--------Brooks-------Miazga-----
----------------Steffen----------------

S-TBD: Zardes, Jozy, Nova/Morris/Wood
M-TBD: Holmes, Arriola, Saief
Bench: Horvath, Johnson, Long, Parker/Alvarado, LB (TBD), RB (TBD), Bradley, Trapp/Roldan,

We've got a good crop of CBs, 2 outstanding CMs, 2 attacking wingbacks, & Pulisic. After that we've got guys who are beginning to emerge, guys who are on their last legs, and some roll players.
This should be enough to get us to the GC final this summer while building towards the future. I'd like to have included some more of our younger players, but I don't see Berhalter calling in Weah, Sargent or others, especially if they are part of the U-20 WC.

I say we go to a 3-5-2. We really don't have wingers right now to play a proper 4-3-3.

-Altidore-Pulisic-
--McKennie--
Robinson-Adams-Bradley-Yedlin
-Long-Brooks-Miazga
--Steffen--

Pulisic will play more of a withdrawn FWD. Pulisic is much better when he is closer to goal.
This is our strongest team right now.

Then the U-20 team would be able to beat the Senior team

Michael Hoyos continues his resurgence. Scored his third goal of the season for his Ecuadorian team yesterday. Could he be in line for a callup?

Well, depends which iteration of the USMNT...

IMO, the full U-20 squad would be able to hold their own against the team that was at Camp Cupcake. There would not be much defense though.

Would love to see at minimum three new faces per camp. There is so much young talent available for the US now.
