lol I always say, I'm interested in mls players under 21 and they have a chance to be good. After 21 for most it's too late.
Davies fits in the under 21 category.

To my knowledge, Dempsey is the only American field player to transfer and make an impact after 23, maybe Stu Holden injuries aside. But facts are facts.

I saw Wood score 2 goals against Stuttgart that were better than any Jozy or Zardes have in their careers. Also, FYI Wood scored as many goals in 1 season last yr as Jozy did in 3 in top euro leagues. Since you watched the games, how was he supposed to score with 0 service and on the worst team in the league lol? Tell me how many goals Zardes has scored in the Bundesliga lol.

Our best performances in history were 02 WC quarters and 09 Confed Cup Final.
In 02, we had 3 mls players in the final game and in 09, we had 2 mls players.
Look at arena who forced 8 mls players in the qualifying lineup out of pure stupidity and arrogance and how we failed to qualify after losing to an amateur team.

Worst intl club management ever.

A delusion is a firm and fixed belief based on inadequate grounds not amenable to rational argument or evidence to contrary, not in sync with regional, cultural and educational background. As a pathology, it is distinct from a belief based on false or incomplete information, confabulation, dogma, illusion, or some other misleading effects of perception.

You just keep on believing that mls is the basis of everything wrong with US nats. Keep in mind that we had plenty of world cup failures with no MLS players. Thanks for making the point that we got better once we included them.

@campparkinson- Lima plays left back for the Quakes (if I'm wrong @ChrisBP will say so) with tommy Thompson playing RB.... so that wouldn't be out of the question.

I agree playing a more traditional style was always going to be easier for the USA, this old approach Berhalter used very well with Columbus. I think the fans are just asking the coach to keep it simple, put guys in similar-ish spots to where they play club soccer and let them go out and make plays and defend the shirt. This is a big next two games against better competition than we've played. Winning the tournament has always been the goal two wins in the group changes nothing.

Costa Rica loses to Haiti 2-1.

Sets up Costa Rica v Mexico and Haiti v Canada on the other side of the bracket.

Lol no that's your interpretation. The basis of everything wrong with US nats is playing inferior players over better players. Now often these inferior players are favored over better players because of privilege and politics. They just happen to be mls players and these players are being picked because they promote the USSF's bigot system and line their pockets. Dude mls has only been around since 96 lol and we've never had a team more successful than our teams made up of majority players in top Euro using 02 and 09 as examples.

We've also never had more talented players in top leagues/ clubs than now, but we still are far from good because of the manager and politics. Again, when arena tried to field a majority mls team we failed to qualify losing to amateurs.

The craziest thing is you've seen the results with mls players and with euro top league players and still not convinced. Lol this is insanity. You rather lose the good old boy way than try to win with players more proven at higher levels.

You're delusional if you think a team made up of a league that has never produced a ballon d'or or world champion or champs league champion can win a WC. This type of American delusion is the reason we're a joke.

Look we're never going to agree on anything and you haven't made 1 valid pt. We can move on, you're loyal to a program that has never accomplished anything and will defend it for no reason.

And to add that if US ends up playing Mexico in a final, it's 2 teams that never make it out of the round of 16 in the World Cups facing off . Thats like the watching the Clippers vs 76ers in a final.

Lol I just don't understand why we should be excited about mediocrity when we could be so much better right now.
In a full team we have 3 World Class players CP, Mckennie, Adams. They should keep us in any game but it takes at least 18 good players to win WCs.

Boyd is very good right now and I think sky is the limit.
Holmes is also good and in my opinion can hold his own in any top league.
Brooks is also very good and can boss world class strikers when on his game.
Sarg has all the tools to be a top striker.
Steffen is good.
Yedlin although not great technically is a very good wing defender.
Miazga is really getting scapegoated for playing with really bad players, MLS privilege/ bias/ politics. That kid can do everything you want a CB to do.

These U20s are good. Pax, C Rich, Weah and Dest are ready right now.
Ledezma could be the best American 10 ever! So fucking fluid on the ball, glides past defenders, creates danger with every touch.

We gotta get the good ole boy faves out and focus on guys that belong.

@bjelks, as usual, you're delusional if you think there's a huge gap between a bench player in Sweden, for example, and a regular in MLS. There isn't, and neither one is going to get us to the lofty heights you speak of. For all of this nonsense you spout, you'd think we were omitting a huge reserve of world beaters. And it torpedoes your argument every time, as there are problems with U.S. Soccer, favoritism towards certain players, lack of transparency in hiring, etc., but you go way too far and make false and outlandish statements in support of that argument.

You say we've never had more talented players in top leagues/ clubs than now, neglecting to mention the vast majority of them aren't starting regularly for the senior team (they're youth players, or regularly injured guys, or journeymen). Name a player who started more than half of his team's games last season in a top 5 European league who we could have included and didn't. Even Morales, who I graciously conceded has a case, only played more than sub minutes once after March 1. I'll even give you Novakovich, though he's a Championship player who needs to win playing time at his parent club. Yes, U.S. Soccer has major issues with transparency, nepotism, etc., but we also are short on top talent.

Yeah... you're way overvaluing them. Pulisic, McKennie and Adams are young players, who are good, that have potential.

Could they be world class someday? Sure, and hopefully they are. Are they world class right now? No, absolutely not. They are most certainly a step below that.

Dude... we go through this like every other month at least it seems. Legitimately all you you do is spout nonsense, pick fights, call people names, and claim racism... all the while being completely ignorant and blind to your own ridiculous, continuously shifting, contradictory arguments.

There is a reason that numerous people have, and continue to, call you out on this site for all the BS you spew. Just stop man. We've read it before hundreds of times, and you aren't changing anyone's mind. Seriously, find a new hobby.

Hahaha but actually.

To be candid, there are very few players in the world who would and should be considered world class. Not a single one of our players fits in that category. The closest we have is Pulisic, and even he is a ways off.

Not saying he (or others) won't get there in time. But at the current moment, he simply isn't. Any talk of players in our pool being "world class" is some serious US Soccer kool-aid sippin.

And all you do is dick ride USSF, sum, mls, Greg, and Garber.

Why don't you stop your illogical and nonsensical defense of everything Greg and USSF do.
You haven't changed anyone's mind and good ole boy program that you continue to defend with no merit is still a joke and disrespected or ignored by the world.
Everything you said about me applies to you. Take that clown shit somewhere else.

Bjelks, you said I had not made one valid point. I have made many you just choose to not address them again after I make them. You are correct we are never going to agree because we are not having a real discussion. You deflect to the good ole boy system and white privilege.

Idk I don't see a lot of people disagreeing with Lilshmike. All of his objections to you are generally weighed with a bit of compromise and acknowledgement of grey areas or areas he could be incorrectly evaluating, whereas things you say are always black and white (lol).
