So Boyd has the quality right now and is being rated by Champs league clubs, he just doesn't have the contract yet.
It's a matter of time and the kid is ready now.
Not interested in the semantics, I trust him to make an impact against anyone in the world. No one else on the roster is even close to CP and Mckennie
So what you're saying is... Boyd is not playing Champions League and we only had 2 CL players on the field instead of 3.

You were (shockingly) wrong. Got it.

4-0 was the bare minimum that we needed to win by in order to call that an acceptable win. We should have bagged at least 3 more.

Zardes is terrible. This has to stop. Legitimately anyone else but him.

Arriola played well. He did well to get into positions and receive the ball, but he was over hitting his crosses and missed a couple of chances that he should have buried. Outside of that, he did was he was supposed to (which was to get the ball in space, cut in, and take shots). He is used to playing on the right, but hes on the left now. Interested to see how he progresses through the tournament.

Boyd did well in the second half. Was a bit suspect in the first, but definitely liked what he brought to the attack.

Was not a fan of the subs. At 3-0 in the 60th minute, the game is not yet won. Subbing in Trapp and Roldan was essentially taking the foot off the pedal and trying to preserve the lead. We should have put a forward on for Zardes, not taken Pulisic off until the 70th, and gone for it.

Hopefully McKennie is alright and isn't out the rest of the tournament. Eyes were on Boyd because of what he was producing around the Guyana box and the balls he sprayed over the top, but McKennie covered the entire field. In my opinion, he was the most impactful player we had.

Really nothing else to say about the game.

My synopsis of the game:

It was like watching an MLS match were 1 team was missing it's designated players.

What are you talking about? Zardes IS a designated player...

To explain my post: If you take away the qualities of Mckennie, Pulisic, and Boyd, there really wasn't much difference between the teams last night. You would have two teams running at each other, losing the ball, repeat.

Just like MLS matches, if you take away the intervention of the DP, more times than not the offensive move falls apart.

Pulisic's body language last night was that of a frustrated player. Partly because he was predominatly man marked, partly because he is used to playing with much better players.

The fact that Zardes IS a Designated Player I think illustrates bjelks and blaise's arguments.

@lilshmike- anyone but more talented players than Zardes. Now that McKennie is hurt is there really even a youth movement at this point. I will remind we should've brought the better player who needs time in this system like everyone else, Josh Sargent.

I understood exactly what you were saying. I was knocking Zardes and making a joke...

What I'm saying is, I can watch the game and tell you how good players are. I can literally look at players play and tell you who can hang in the Champs League and who cannot. Champs League level isn't meant to be taken literally, but you fan boys can't rate players unless Greg tells you they're good or not.
Shockingly you got your nose so far up Greg's ass you can't think for yourself. Not my problem.

We have 3 players on this team good enough to play in the Champs League right now. The rest are trash. Take it how you like.

McKennie's injury was merely a cramp (so they have said), so as of now he is still available.

Come on now... don't get started on the whole Sargent thing again, dude. There are at least 3 names I could drop right now who should be there instead of Sargent - a kid who is a reserve/bench player for a team and has seen a total of 205 minutes of top-flight senior level soccer...

Wood should be taken over Sargent. Novakovich should be taken over Sargent. Hell, Dom Dwyer, Juan Agudelo, Andrew Wooten, and Christian Ramirez should all be taken over Sargent.

Until he becomes a consistent bench/first option off the bench player for Bremen (or goes out on loan to get first team experience)... he is on the outside looking in and should not be brought in. No serious, legit national team would do any different, nor would any competent coach. Its noted that you love the kid... but come on, this is getting silly.

All I was doing last night was imagining Pomykal in that midfield last night and how much better the USMNT will be when he finally gets the call up.

Pulisic-Altidore--Boyd
--Pomykal--McKennie--
----Adams---
Gloster-Brooks-Z-Man-Yedlin
----Steffen---

That's a team to be excited about.
