Boyd has been putting up some plays and numbers we will see.

I'd rate our uncapped dual national players:

1. Holmes
2. Dest
3. Boyd

I also could see plenty of our young guns like Soto, Sargent, Weah, Gloster etc being with their clubs first teams for preseason. Potentially even Pulisic at Chelsea. This gold cup doesn't matter besides regional pride there is no more confed cup it's all taken a back seat to the nations league. With many regional tournaments kind of a pain in the ass all around for our European based players and their clubs I could see a domestic heavy squad for this Gold Cup and through next year until summer 2020.

I just saw Boyds goal on Sciarettas Twitter. That dude is fast!

I agree with the list and adding Tillman at #4

Michael Hoyos scores again. He really is rounding back into old form. With are lack of true attacking weapons I don't see why Hoyos wouldn't be considered as well..

1. Holmes
2. Hoyos
3. Boyd

I can wait on Dest until he becomes a first team player for Ajax.

Sonora came off the bench again in a losing effort. Tillman's been back on the bench and not playing since the international break. Boyd's a New Zealander. If he wants to switch, fine, and we should be reaching out. But it's all moot if he doesn't want to switch. If I were him I'd wait to see what happens with FIFA expanding the 2022 World Cup, which would virtually guarantee New Zealand a spot in the tournament. Dest is playing second team soccer. Only Holmes is really immediately a viable option of those five guys.

All better options than: Bradley, Trapp, Roldan, Baird, Arriola and the other MLS posers

As a great philosopher once said, if you don't like it, learn to love it. But seriously, I am all for other options, if they are performing well on a first team.

Im hoping he makes it kind of like a camp cupcake for Euro guys. We need to see

holmes
gooch
EPB
Robinson
ccv
gall
No clue who Jan George is but he seems to be getting mins
don't think Nova is good enough but he should get a call up

anybody see that Green scored a great goal last week?

Fabian needs to be called in-

Maybe Soto, Maybe AronJ (although the guy just can't stay healthy)

Im all for bringing in MLS guys like Lewis, Lima and Tommy Thompson, Efrain, shoot I may consider Busio, Paxton,
maybe saief but frankly he looked slow when he played for the nats before

At this point we can't afford to see
zardes, roldon, bradley, OG, Ariola, baird, ream there are better options

Cant use must be playing 1st team mins b.c Morris was called up, so was lewis, Lima hasn't started this yr in MLS.

Yes, I'd rather Berhalter set a standard where everyone has to be featuring regularly to get called up, including the MLS guys. Gooch is in and out of the lineup in League One because of injuries. He shouldn't be considered right now.

Looks like the #GoldCup organizers are trying to heighten the drama. The #usmnt is put in a group with Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana. The US will play Guyana first in St. Paul on 6/18, T&T in Cleveland on 6/22 & Panama in Kansas City on 6/26.

In theory I agree with you and wish we were at a place where we could implement that.

But with the current status of the team (although I believe we are on an uptick) we need to evaluate players whom can serve as depth and or someone whom maybe able to be in the 11 come 22, or guys who could be super subs.

Where we are at as a program we need whomever the best players are to be called in.

If we really think Zardes is worthy of a call bc he plays more than Sergeant, wood, I would just have to disagree.

Or Ariola. I watched the last DC game he always has energy and can look dangerous but he can't cross the ball.

Or Baird who showed he can't play at the Int level

We would also need to define what regular means. would CP meat the playing regular 1st team mins?

I could go on. But again I agree with your premise but we are just not the point to demand 1st team or no call up.

What turns off the US fans is the double standard. Morris, lewis and Lima dont regular play but they were called in but we can't call in Gooch ?

Lets bring in the Euro guys and guys whom may not have been capped yet. They should be given the same evaluation that GB gave the mls guys in camp cupcake and frankly the last 2 games. GB coached in mls he should have known most of these guys and should have experimented the last 2 games.

so lets hope we can see some new faces

stoked3, I get what you're saying. There definitely shouldn't be a double standard. Even if a guy like Lewis is specifically brought in to be a sub, he should at least be getting sub minutes for his club. I think with somebody like Pulisic who is on a big club (and is currently injured) the threshold for playing time is not as high from my perspective. Should be some, but given the situation, that he's on loan until he goes to Chelsea, that's an outlier. I do agree we should bring in more Europe-based players, but there should be some form reason for call-up. Not calling Danny Williams because he's looked good in the past, even though he's been regularly hurt for Huddersfield this year and last and has not played much since he got back. Not calling Timothy Tillman because he got a couple of appearances for a similarly bad Bundesliga team and has spent the rest of his season on the bench. Needing to see more from Lynden Gooch, who has been regularly injured and is in League One.

If Jozy keeps on scoring goals the way he is right now, he is most definitely our starting striker at the Gold Cup. He might be in the best form of his career right now.
